Can Someone Please Help Me With This Question?

It's me again.  Still anxiously awaiting my Nov. 10th appt. with new Neurologist.  I just had something new happen to me and I wanted to get your opinions.

Something startled me a moment ago and I must have flinched from the startle and I had a horrible electrical pain go across my face.

I have had some electrical pain on my cheek bone but never like this.  I just wondered if anyone has ever had this happen when they got startled.  Several months ago at night when I'd be lying in bed if I got startled I'd see a bright light even while eyes were closed and I have found that was a common MS symptom and wondered about this one.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.  I'm sorry I'm a person of so many questions.  I hate to take so much from everyone and not be able to contribute in return.

this is a common symptom from people on this forum...not sure what it is mind you, but I do get it..not across my face, but I get the electrical shock movement feelings down my back, and down my leg...in my foot... etc.. not that often at the moment,  I think alot of my symptoms have settled abit....??

and I sometimes have a bad time with my eyes... that can last for a few weeks..when I see flashing lights etc...circles, or lines...when my eyes are closed or when I open them at night time in the dark... I mentioned it to the eye Dr and they don't know what it is...I don't have ON... and the eye dr thinks it neurological...but won't say for sure..

hang in there
take care

Did your head jerk back when you were startled?  I don't have this symptom, but many people with cervical neck lesions complain of L'Hermitte's, which is an electrical shock that occurs whenever the head is moved into certain positions.

I get electrical shocks without warning, but they don't seem to be connected to body posture - just simple nerve ending activity.

Deborah,
I'm sorry but I can't help from experience with this question.  I do want to say though that its ok to ask questions, and lots of them.  This is an incredibly complex disease to understand - I'm still learning the basics myself.  Asking questions is the onl way we're going to learn.
