Can These Electric Shocks Really Be This Painful At Times??

Hi all,

Was wondering has anyone experienced very painfull electric shock sensation, resulting in maybe setting other things off? Or am I just a odd ball.

The past few days I have really been experiencing some very breathing taking electric shocks down my spine/right side of my back. At times I have to stop what I am doing because they are that intense. My right back muscle has been going into alot more spasms since this, you can see my muscle really sticking out when it spasms & my daughter said when she was putting on cream to help relax the muscle, that I have a light blue bruise on that area, my base of my spine is absolutley hurting me because of my muscles spasms in that area too, which is causing me to feel a cold/numb sensation on the base of my spine & my legs are tingling more. My head feels even more sensative, & have been experiencing motion sickness sensation, it's as if I am traveling in a car with that horrible smell that makes you feel ill, but I'm not, as I am at home.

I have had these electric shocks/zaps on & off for many months but never as sharp as I have been getting them. I have experienced muscle spasms with some very very painful ones especially across my back/chest but my electric shocks seems to be setting them off now. I have suffered head sensative but never with the feeling I am in a car (travel sickness), if that makes sense.

I am a limbolander, has anyone else experienced this.

xxxx

I get "zapped" often. Luckily it doesn't usually last long.  There is no one place for me, it happens all over. My head, my arms, my legs.

Undx. Again I'm sorry I don't have an answer, just sympathy.

I haven't had a dx yet and honestly there are days that I think I"m just losing my mind. I had a feminine surgical procedure last Friday and ever since my dizziness, that was mostly gone, is so bad that I can't walk from my bed to the toilet without holding onto furniture. Twice today I have gone out to sit with my family but after half an hour I have ended up really nauseaus and had to lie down. Last night I woke up through the night after being asleep for an hour with what I'll describe as tremors, we have a water bed and I was about to wake my husband because I thought the house was shaking, after my brain started to focus I realised that it was me and it was mainly down the left side of my body, including my face, arm, chest. It then happened another 8-10 through the night. I have had it before and thought it was anything from shaking house to a racing heart.

I have made an appointment with my GP and are hoping to get the urgency of my case changed so that I can see a neurologist in less the 12-18 months.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this. I am feeling really scared at the moment as I can't even walk around my own home due to the dizziness and has anyone had anything similar to what I've described happened last night?

I'm sorry to ask this here but I just don't know where else to turn at the moment and I'm really scared. I was starting to feel as though the symptoms where getting better prior to the surgery.

Hi there. I get them shooting down my legs to my toes at times... and most of the time it's painful...sometimes it's not too bad... I'm now taking Gabapentin and it's helped abit... I don't get them as often and they aren't as painful.. just a pain.

I could not have described it any better when you said like a cattle prod, that's how it feels, as if someone has pressed that against me, I get my shocks mainly on my back, I just did not think they could hurt like they have.

Mayperl- I experience the same when I am trying to do my hair, my head & face tingles along with my arms, I have noticed I cannot hold my arms mainly right arm up for long now as they become very heavy & I seem to loose the strength very quickly.

i get stabbing pains in my heels that are very painful. and I'm not walking around! I work from home, I sit in a comfortable chair or work from my bed yet, I ache all over and get stabbing pains.  Like Guitar_grrrl, I too get the electric buzz on my entire left side of my body when bending my neck forward.  Also, if I do my hair and put on pake-up, my skull tingles, and my arms tingle for a bit afterwards.

The encourage exercise and working you muscles... but my legs and feet get numb if i walk on the treadmill for more than 25 mins.  and if i ache this much doing nothing, I fear what it would be like after working the muscles.

I get the cattle prod to my R buttock when coming out of Setubandha in Yoga.  Other than that, I get consistent, reproducible electric buzz when flexing my neck forward.

I get what I call the electric cattle prod to the bottom of my right foot. Sometimes I cry out. It happens at least once a day.
