Can't get my Rebif!! - Warning this is a rant!!

Hi All,

It's me again with a rant. I'm just feeling a little powerless right now and I want to rant it out. Also see if I'm the only one whos ever had this issue. I ran out of my rebif last week. I have been trying to get it delivered for the past two weeks. They (accredo) say whenever it goes to get paid from my insurance (healthnet) it gets rejected. Needed a new PA! However my current PA didn't run out till oct 2013. My Dr got involved and got a new PA and called it in. They did that two weeks ago. Both my doctor and I and now mslifelines have been calling accredo to figure it out. I have wasted so many hours now dealing with this!!! Last I heard from mslifelines that everything is sorted and accredo will call this week to arrange delivery. They need a day or two to process it. By the time I get it I would of missed two weeks of shots I'm sure. Mslifelines slogan is stay on meds. I'm really trying to stay on it!

Oh well I have had two attacks since being on rebif so maybe its not working for me anyway. I'm going to have an MRI done soon and if its not looking good I'll need to change meds again anyway. Maybe I'll just quit rebif now and have a baby, I hear being pregnant helps MS :)

Sorry to be a downer, its been a really long painful two weeks of hours of wasted time...... :(

It Arrived!! from Caremark!! Never dealing with acredo again if I can help it :) Thanks for supporting me though this :)

Well hopefully I will recieve my rebif today from caremark. They called my Dr and got the info they needed and then called me to arrange delivery for today. They said no copay (which is normal for me) and that healthnet already paid it...

Mslifelines were concerned healthnet would not pay it but not enough to follow up with me. Just told me accredo will deliver my drug next tuesday. If caremark come through today, I'm done with accredo and to be honest mslifelines.... they were not much help at all.....

This is completely unacceptable and I don't blame you for being discouraged.

Can your neuro's office try again or have you spoken with someone who is a supervisor at any of these companies?

I am so sorry and I wish there was something I could do to help.

I hate to say hang in there, but my fingers are crossed that this is resolved quickly at this point.

Another update:-

Now it seems noone cares I don't have my drug. MSlifelines are not really working on it anymore either. I called Monday, so dismissive. Said could take a few days. Called today, same.... said they will call them and it may take a few days. It's been over a month and I'm a week deep in my two week bridge. I am so very close to giving up.

Got a letter from healthnet, approving a different pharmacy, caremark.... called caremark. They know nothing.....

So tired of this.....

Hi All,

So I got a bridge supply for two weeks from MSlifelines, so now I'm back on rebif. However, Accredo said my drug would come on saturday. You guessed it, it didnt arrive.... back to the phones for me.....

When I advised my Specialty Pharm (Briova) that I was discontinuing my Copaxone and did not need my refill they barely inquired. However, I never experienced anything you have and support your baby fever :)

Byyygrace, thanks for the funny :) I think you are right about the connection with accredo and suicide..... Good luck with the house!! I remember when we were buying, it was a stressful time but in the end got the house I loved the most. Thats what its all about :).

I am so close to saying that.... I was thinking about maybe coming off the meds in oct to start trying for a baby... maybe I just do it earlier.... :)

I'll keep you all updated on how this turns out, either me back on my drugs or knocked up :)

Tell them you will quit all MS drugs all together. When I did quit my MS drugs they were calling me trying to get me back it was crazy they do not want to lose that kinda business. When I went off Copaxone they suggested I go on another drug like it i.e. the same cost. They even called my doctor behind my back and got a refill. I did not want a refill so the fur flew.

I'm so sorry that you are still dealing with this too!

I ordered my 1st refill online a couple of days ago. I then got a confirmation email. Today, I have a message saying they can't ship because they need additional info...AGAIN. They also billed me for a $100 co-pay even though MS OnetoOne(Aubagio people) picks that up for a year. I had spent all day on the phone, once as a four-way call between Accredo, me, MS OnetoOne co-pay assist person, and my MS OnetoOne nurse to iron all of that out last month.

According to Accredo, they have no information about any co-pay assistance for me...insert me banging my head off the wall repeatedly! I called the Aubagio folks again today(they have 10 pages of notes on the situation) and they told me that the medication I received last month was an emergency supply from them until Accredo and Express Scripts got everything in order. I asked why Accredo is charging me for something they paid for? They don't know. Me either. The fun never quits...How in the world are we supposed to respond? I'm beginning to feel like "the crazy lady" in building 32!

I read somewhere that people with MS commit suicide in higher numbers than the general population. I'm thinking maybe they were all Express Script-Accredo users.

Thanks Lizzie, they did, made no difference.

My Hubby is now getting annoyed and told me to start getting supervisors to talk to me and getting numbers/names etc.... I have but maybe im not pushing enough... its really silly!!

When I was Dx'd my Neuro's office contacted my healthcare provider to get emergency authorizations for my IVSM and DMD. Perhaps you could utilize this route?

Just called and they said its not coming today.... Need prior Auth... They have had it for 3 weeks....

I'm about to throw the toys out the pram over this!!!

Bubbles that's exactly what I went through! I am still so disgusted with them. From what I can tell I didn't have any lasting effects from the lapse in treatment so try not to worry too much about that.

Beama, that really ***** and makes me hate accredo more!! I'm not really sure what the issue is with these big pharma companies.

It would seem they are billing the wrong insurance, I told them that, my Dr told them that and now MSlifelines are telling them that.

MSlifelines called me today to say that accredo should call me.... They didn't....

I just went through the same thing with the accredo and rebif. Went over 2 weeks without it. Nobody cared. MSLifelines got involved but they also messed up which slowed it down too. I am wondering if its worth it. Never had this problem when I was allowed to use pharmacy here to get it. Hating the mail order med thing! Hope you get it soon!!
