I have read studies such as the ones Quix describes, and further, that there is believed to be an increased risk of MS due to long term exposure to second hand smoke. If I can find the links I'll post them here.
I have multiple studies showing that smokers are more likely to get MS and MSers who smoke are more likely to progress faster toward SPMS.
