Cigarettes during a flare-up

Cigarettes during a flare-up

Makes the flare-up worse? Or doesnt really matter?

My current exacerbation (first since dx in 2004 with minor incidents in between) involves a complete numbness and inco-ordination in my left leg and some new tingling in my right leg.

Is it safe to smoke cigarettes or is it a complete NO NO?

I'm a smoker myself... I'm just not ready to quit yet but when I am I will... I'm sure that anyone who is a non smoker will tell you that it's a definite no no... We all know that smoking isn't good for us as far as that goes...

I personally don't feel like it makes my symptoms worse when I smoke but it probably doesn't make them any better either...I'm sure that someone will know of a study done on it some where.. They do studies on everything else...lol...

A smoker is probably the wrong person to be answering this any way so I'll set back with you and see what others say about it... I just still need one thing in my life that I control... Sad but true...

They say that smoking will speed up MS progression.  I smoked for a few years after college, and quit after age 30.  They don't recommend it - it would be better to find another habit!
