Confusion

Since being diagnosed with MS, everything that previously I would have just accepted as a sign of aging, or over tired arms and fingers from hours at the computer now sends my mind reeling. I no longer can have a simple tingle down the back, sore muscles. It's all MS. All the time.

Can't it sometimes just not be MS?

Yes it can sometimes not be MS, not long ago a member turned out to have DVT, that pain wasn't from MS but could easily have been overlooked as MS related. I'm also just getting over a skin infection, when it first started I chalked it down as being parasthesia and ignored it as I usually do but silly me shouldn't have done that before knowing for sure, i just assumed and got it wrong. lol

What exactly are you thinking may not be MS? If its specifically just what you've mentioned, then think of your body as not being as elastic as you expect, it tires out more easily and lets you know you're over doing it a lot sooner than it would for someone who doesn't have MS. Once you find your balancing act, you'll read your bodies messages and understand and accept what is MS and what is not. Or at least you'll find it easier to work out, still sometimes you'll get it wrong but mostly you'll be right and the little things will fall into the back ground of your life and it wont seem as overwhelming.

If you are struggling, please dont think you have to s u c k it up and take it on the chin, go and speak to someone and they will help you not get so overwhelmed when the going gets tough.

Cheers..........JJ

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Unfortunately I will tell you that you will probably be self-absorbed with the MS all of time, if you are like me.

Welcome,

I was just diagnosed last Wednesday and I have been wondering the same thing. Am I just sore? Is my circulation bad? Am have a flare-up? Am I tired/overworked, etc.

It's been such a slap in the head I still can't believe it. I would like to think about something else, but it seems to preoccupy my thoughts right now.

Good luck to you on your new journey.
