My Shared Solutions nurse just came for my 3 month visit and assured me that the company is promising to maintain their $35 co-pay policy to assist patients since Copaxone is so important. Perhaps the other drugs will follow lead.
If they go to a high %, I will not be able to afford my prescription. I guess that is one way to contain costs: kill people like me off faster by denying us the drugs we need. I did contact my senator about this. I only hope the topic is worthy enough for her to review.
The copays were going regardless of the Affordable Care Act. Some insurance companies are going to a percentage instead of a copay. You pay say 20% of the total cost of a biologic drug. What we are doing in NC is getting our local chapter of the NMSS to make a law in our State Legislature to keep this from happening. We saw this coming and started on it years ago.

I haven't heard about copays, but it wouldn't surprise me. I'll hope it isn't true.
As for UTI's - I am on a prophylactic dose of macrobid and it has worked very well. The bactrim worked too but my urogyno wanted to use a drug that isn't needed for other infections and Macrobid fits that description. I have been UTI free for about 18 months or so. Good luck in finding the right balance - it takes some time but can be done.
