Cooling Towel!

Thought I would share a new find with everyone!  I recently found a cooling towel in the fitness section at Walmart that stays cool for 4 hours after just getting it damp.  It is perfect for me to help regulate my body while I exercise and thought it could help many people just so they can sit outside!  It's something to check out if you suffer from heat intolerance.

Hope this find can help someone out there!

I have a cooling vest that works really well  you get it wet and throw it in the freezer. It stays cold long enough for me to finish my walk.

I also found a mat at wal greens that you sit on and it gets cold and as you move around it reactivates.   It's nice for work.

This towel is the size of a scarf.  Once it's wet with water or perspiration, it feels cool.  I wore during exercise and flipped over after it lost some of its coolness.  It's not an ice pak by any means but helps to keep my body temp a little.  Any bit helps!

Does this product dry and still cool?  I haven't had much luck with the evapoative products.  They keep my collar moist with little (or no) cooling after the initial chill of application.  After that they just collect perspiration and hold it in.  Maybe it's the humidity factor.

I can't tell how this product works but I'm desperately hoping good reports pour in here.  I really need something for work.  The environment is full of hot spots once I leave my a/c office (a frequent necessity).

As it usually takes something like a walk-in 'frig to cool me down, maybe I'm asking too much of small portable products.  Winter, I long for your cool touch.  Please leave the precipitation in the artic when you come next.

I think I found it in the WM site (if this is the same product)- here is the description:

The Magic Cool Bandana is a high-performance cooling cloth that can be used in any application where personal cooling is desired. It is easy to activate by simply wetting it with water, squeezing the cloth and waving it in the air.

Magic Cool Bandana:

    * Cooling cloth is ideal for personal cooling
    * Hollow-fiber weave maintains the cool temperature
    * Non-toxic, anti-microbial treatment reduces odors
    * UV protection
    * Requires no refrigeration
    * Renewable with any water source

They come in Navy and Khaki and cost less than $15 each. they are about 15"x8x8.

So I tried mine out and it worked great the whole hour I exercised.  I wrapped it around my neck and it kept me cool while I exercised.  It cost like $9.00 at Walmart and the brand is SKLZ.  The box says SKLZ.com if you want to look it up.

Glad this was so helpful to many of you!

Do you happen to know the brand? I have two of those neck wraps. It is supposed to stay cold from 18 hours. It lasts about 30 minutes. LOL.

That sounds like something I would love to have.  How much did it cost? Have you tried it out yet.  If it works for 4 hours, heck even 2 hours, that would be amazing.  Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks. I will have to look for one. I put a wet baseball cap and bandana  in the freezer for a few minutes and that helps. We have 90's and above all most every day from May thru September.

I just sent off for a cooling vest through MSAA yesterday. They have 4 choices. Luckily I meet the income requirement.

I made my own with a cheap fishing vest from ****'s Sporting goods and putting ice packs in the pockets. Wallmart has these ice packs which are lightweight and you can cut up to any size. If I do not get approved for the MSAA one I can still wear this one.

I'll have to send DH on a shopping trip to see if he can find one for me.  It sounds good to me.
