Diagnosed with fibromyalgia.

I have been to so many different docs for pain in my back,I had  2 herniated disks in lower back and had surgery, I have neck pain with bulging disk. I had an MRI and shows I have spinal stenosis and degenerative disk disease. I have arm and leg pain, just had surgery for carpul tunnel waiting to do the other one. I have Planters Faschitis on right foot and neuroma on left. I was told I have fibromyalgia without anything else being ruled out. Which leaves me feeling concerned because I have been hearing some symtoms of MS that sound like me. I get migranes with blurred vision usually in one eye at a time, like a zig zag blur that goes away in about 15 min. and then  I get a headache after that. My headaches are so severe my oxycotin won't even help. And last but not least I have trouble swallowing certain foods like meats or something dry. It hurts and I get the hic-ups.
Does that sound like MS or just a bunch of other problems? I'm aging before my time and it *****!!!

Hi there...sorry to hear about all your pain and hope your meds will settle it down abit.. the eye vision thing sounds alot like a VERY bad migraine?  Do you have these alot?  and do you have meds for these?

are you taking meds for Fibro.. like Lyrica?  They say it helps with pain?

have you tried heat? .. I find using a microwave heating bean bag helps when my legs get sore.... and I massage the area abit...adding abit a pressure sometimes helps too.

try a warm bath?  not to hot though...

Hope you feel better soon, stay in touch and take care

Lulu,
Thanks for the reassurance. I appreciate hearing from you. Being in pain gets very lonely at times. Nobody wants to hear about it, including my husband.
Hope to chat with you again soon.

Hi Lori and welcome to the MS Forum.

Honestly I don't get the sense that what you are dealing with is MS.  There are probably  1,001 different symptoms to MS and each and every one of those could also be linked to a different disease as well.

The combination of fibro and the back issues must be horrendous.  Then you toss in the problems with the migraines, PF and the other stuff and it must be miserable.

I hope you are talking to your doctors and have one who can coordinate all of your care and pain management.

I had to laugh when I saw your complaint about aging - I know what you mean being 54 and falling apart this past year has been the pits.

Feel free to come through anytime you need to vent or ask questions.
