Distorted Face

Distorted Face

I have a weird thing going in with my face. I thought it was a bells palsy but my face isn't drooping it's pulling up on one side and my eye is not open all of the way. I'm not sure if it's MS or Not. Im just getting over a flair which is what makes me think maybe this is something residual from that. Just wondering if anyone has any idea what this could be. Thanks for listEning.

Michelle that's kinda scary... I would keep a close watch on it and if it changes at all go to the ER... Let us know if there are any changes... Don't make us worry!!!! lol

I'll be praying,

If you don't see your neuro I would for sure call him and let him know what's going on... Make sure it gets put in your chart...

Hi Michelle, this is the type of physical change we can't ignore for long.  I'm glad you are seeing the neuro on Tuesday, but if it gets worse before then you might consider an urgent care or ER visit.

Since you say it is swollen, could it be a dental or sinus problem?  Infections in those areas can cause all sorts of distortions to the face. It is way too easy to blame all of our problems on the MS when our body is also susceptible to other infections and diseases.

feel better,
Lulu

I went to the dentist yesterday & there's no infection. No pain or anything either. I just woke up & its not as bad so let's see what happens as the day goes on. Keep u posted

Saw the Neuro today. Says what's going on with my face is called facial myokymia it's mini contactioms that happen super fast. Said it should go away on it's own. Its the same thing as when your eyelid twitches for no reason. And just when I thought I new everything about MS! We also discussed tr Rituxan and I'm going to start it hopefully this month. He was reluctant at first but then researched it again and said that the Tysabri is actually riskier when it comes to PML.
