Dizzieness/Vertigo

Does anyone deal with almost constant dizziness and vertigo? I wake up and it's there and it does not help with my balance issue. It seems my symptoms just keep coming and going, I have no idea what's going to hit me that day. I woke up thinking OHHHH finally no dizziness! WRONG!!!! After being awake less then 15 minutes it hit me. It is hard enough to function and this damned dizziness sure does not help one bit.

I have had vertigo to the point where I couldn't even move it was so bad, it hasn't been that bad. I can get up and get around but shesh I have to hang onto just about everything to get to the bathroom etc.

I also seem much worse in the morning then later in the afternoon (with almost all symptoms that is). I know everyone is different. Just wondering if anyone else deals with this nonsense :)

I have the same problem and think I have solved it. Basically I was keeping the air too hot in the summer and this was causing high humidity in the house.. the hight humidity cause my sinuses to inflame and infect.. so I hired a company to take humidity away from house (250 dollars) . I then bought a hair purifier (makes ozone disinfects viruses and bacteria) (120 dollars) . Now I keep home at constant 76 F in the summer and will buy a small air dehumidifier for the summers, just in case. I also read that latest research links high humidity to sinus infections, ear are connected ao then we get vertigo!!!!! I understand how you feel have had vertigo a few  times and it was the scariest thing ever.. also look on Google research connectting high humidity to sinus and vertigo problems and good luck! Gluten has no universal connection but sugar has. Do not reduce only but eliminate it. There are many other things we can do. I treat patients holistically. I have to see you also for the full strategy on treatment.

I can only speak for myself. I rarely eat. I'm just never hungry and have lost 10lbs in the past 4 months. So, I don't think my issue is from what I'm eating lol Maybe? Who knows. But, when I do eat I tend to eat a lot of salads. At this point I'm just happy to eat when I do and ain't giving anything up that I'm willing to eat :) Not yet anyhow. Also, I'm not much of a sugar person. Once in awhile I do eat a candy bar cause oh they are soooo good :) But not very often.

My vertigo tends to come and go. I might have it for one day then not for days. Then might have it for a few days then not for months. Very odd.

A few years ago I had it, no known cause (hmmm lol now I wonder why I had it) anyhow, they told me to try allergy medication and it did work. Hopefully it works this time. Just no benadryl since it makes me sleepy.

btw just went grocery shopping lol Good thing they have carts. Or them people would have thought a drunk was walking around shopping haha :)

Anyhow, hopefully the

So doc,  what's your take on the advise of eliminating gluten, and reducing sugars in the MS patient??  My chiropractor is also an holistic healer and want me off of both.  She feels more of these natural remedies along with manipultions, rather than conventional medications used for MS are a better route.

Yes,  i have had and still do have vertigo/dizziness.   It almost seems strange to call it that for the room does not spin but I've had to hold onto the wll while walking.  Feels like my head is 'full'....like a big wet sloppy spunge is in there an sloshes around when I move my head.

I've fallen out of the shower, landed in the hospital and did occupational vestibular therapy for 3 months.  They taught me eye exercies; ones that make you move your eyes quickly and focus on targets purposely to make yourself dizzy.   Their logic was that if you trick your brain into thinking that dizzy is normal (by doing these exercises routinely) your brain will stop being dizzy.  It feels like the absolute last thing you want to do when you're already dizzy but honestly, immediately afterward, I felt better.   I would do these 4-5-6 times a day.  They take about 20 minutes.    I also saw a chiropractor that helped a great deal. He felt that the muscles at the base of my brain/top of cervical spine were inflamed, pinching my optic nerves, making me dizzy.   He too helped a great deal.   This was all before my brain MRI showed up with extensive white lesions indicative of MS.  So now I'm headed to neuro.  The vertigo seems now to go more than it comes.   It's effected by humidity, heat and stress.   Strangely enough, driving doesn't effect it at all.   Not sure why.   Sure hope this helps.  Maybe find an occupational therapist with vestibular training and a chiropractor who's had helpful experience dealing with vertigo.   Good luck.   Have faith.
