Dizziness after hot shower

I've been having dizziness for about 4 weeks now. This morning was the first time I didn't UNTIL I just had a hot shower. About two minutes into the shower, the dizziness started.

Is this the type of thing you mean when you say "heat exaccerbates symptoms"?

Is this the type of thing to mention to the neurologist?

I use a warmer shower to help me sleep.  It makes me so tired that sleep becomes much easier.

If I shower during the day the water needs to be much cooler or I need to nap a bit.

Scared sheep, love it!  Heard that somewhere before, worded slightly different  ;o)

I'm in Portland OR, and we're calling this the month of June-uary because the weather has been more like our usual January than June.  I hear we may warm up all the way to 70 this weekend, and have spring bustin' out all over, even though it's almost summer.

Keep smiling!

Winter?  Where you at?  Excuse me... ;-)  Where are you located?

The dizziness from heat is called Urthoff's sign, and you'll find that previous symptoms from flares will reappear after being heated.  When I get too hot, my vision blurs, my hands shake, and my right leg becomes weak.  After I recover, these symptoms get better.

Sigh, so are hot tubs and jacuzzis, but not if they make you dizzy enough to fall and knock your noggin.

I believe I've read that although these symptoms are called "pseudo-exacerbations", they can actually do damage, so it is best to avoid the lovely hot water.

Learn to love warm water, I guess.  Sorry.

How about a warm hug?  :o)

Yup!  Stop taking hot showers, and be very careful about getting in and out of the shower.
