Hi and welcome,
I personally dont think MS is more likely than the other possiblities, to me it seems more likely something relating to the stomach/bowel than a neurological causation. Thats a long time to have diarhea so i'd be looking into things like diet, celiac disease, allergy etc you could try an elimination diet for a couple of weeks to see if anything triggers it, if you do think thats something you want to try in the short term, then look up Sue Dengate to give you some ideas.
Cheers.....JJ
It's been like this for about two-three months or so, and got worse after a drinking binge. I've had diarrhea lasting about the same time. Blood work was normal, except for low magnesium blood levels, but after taking mag oxide, that seems to be back in balance. Was on anti-diarrhea meds, but ran out and it seems to continue (although magnesium oxide itself can cause it, I'm told). I just don't know. Random sharp pains in abdomen, chest, shoulder, jaw, neck, and lower back, which has lasted all throughout but started a couple months before everything else.

Hi, my name is Eric. Thanks for answering. I just talked to my GP about it. Haven't seen a neurologists, though I've spoken one who's a friend. From what I've read, I thought MG affects the face. But idk, I'm guessing mostly. GP said MS was on his list of causes he thought about when I relayed my symptoms, but nothing is clear yet.
Has your doctor ruled out myasthenia gravis? Generalized muscle weakness can be a symptoms associated with MG.
Welcome to the forum. If you haven't already, please take a few moments to introduce yourself. I cannot recommend the Health Pages highly enough! At the beginning of my journey- I read them over and over! This is a very nice place to go for support. We even have a "limbo-land" forum for folks that are waiting for a diagnosis.
It doesn't sound like a true flare to me. It does sound like pseudo-exacerbation. It's pretty normal (in ms) to experience the old symptoms of previous relapse- when you're sick, over-heated, or have just been trying to do too much.
Sometimes these irritating pseudo-flares seem to happen for no reason. A true flare will be continuous, until the lesion that caused it has had a chance to try to remyelinate. They don't peal perfectly though... That's why you still get the symptoms in pseudo-flares.
Some people have a single event, that eventually heals-- then no more problems. I hope that will be the case for you. Either way, we're here...
