Doctor's appointment

Well went to neuro he had no interest in me went through his exam said I had some tremer in right arm but blames it on the drugs he doesn't know I went off the drugs four weeks ago. I asked him about my lesions he said possible ms he also said I would be just fine. Wants me to see a shrink about the drugs he put me on. And I see him in 6 months. If one is not able to work and feels sick every day there has to be something wrong. He was the one who put me on all the depression pills before seeing a speacilist. At this point I feel more crazy then every I told my husband lets sell our house and run away to PEI and start over sounds crazy A? I've put my life on hold not knowing what to do with me always feeling sick now I know they can't help untill something happens to me. Symptoms just don't seam to be enough. My MRI have not changed in 2 1/2 years. Can lesions come from depression or  what? I'm on work disability for now won't last long is it hard to get goverment disability with  possible MS. Don't know how to manage on one income my husband has also gone through cancer so his health not at it's best too. Any advise will help thank you
God bless

Hi, I'm sorry I haven't been on the forum much in the last couple days.  I CANNOT BELIEVE that you are being dismissed by a neurologist with the MRI findings you have.  Large, lobulated (like lobes pushed together) lesions?????  These are NOT NORMAL and you need someone to explain them.  Was this neurologist the one at St. Michaels?  I so hope not.

Absolutely not, depression does NOT cause lesions on the brain.  Something is causing these and your symptoms.  You are not crazy, but do qualify for induction into our special club for people who have had Dr.s dismiss them and all their findings and symptoms as being in their head (Well....it sort of IS in your head, tho, isn't it?)

There may be depression going on.  Depression in many brain diseorders is common and it is ESPECIALLY  common in MS.  It would not be at all inappropriate to see a psychiatrist, take your MRI report and tell him/her what you are going through.  Psychiatrists have to been well educated in neurology.  Very often they are aghast that you are sent to them with what is obviously a neurological problem.  The can then be a great ally in making sure you get a good neuro follow up.  Also if there is a component of major depression going on they can make sure you are appropriately treated.

Who was this neuro guy anyway?  These guys really need to be slow-roasted over a hot fire!!

It's weinner roasting time!!!  What a quack.  Even if you don't have MS,  I cannot believe this guy is going to send you on your way for 6 mo.

If you have MS just think what 6 mo worth of treatment could mean for you.  Please, Please, get another doctor.  Never go back and don't look back.  Go far, far, far, away.  Get the picture???

I will be praying for you and please let us know,
Carol
