Hi D,
I did the walk last year. It was really nice. I decided to do it in Sandy Hook here in NJ and it was wonderful due to the atmosphere there.
You turn in your donations, then you get a t-shirt, etc. Then, (where I was) they had pizza and a band, and gave out medals.
I really enjoyed it, and we did it as a family. I saw lots of groups that had their own team name and shirts, etc. Thinking it might be a good idea to fund raise early on w/a group like that.
Congrats for you to get that amount up!!!!!!
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did,
ttys,
Shell
Thanks DoubleVision1
I saw the bike and the 50 mile walk. I will see how this walk goes and possibly be doing the bike next year too.
I can't wait to hear details about your 50 mile walk. I know you will get to do it.
If you are able to donate I would be most grateful. Of course it goes to help all of us so the more I can put the word out the better off we all are.
D
Good for you! I think you're going to have to raise your goal with all that cash you've raised so far.
I was too ill to do my local walk last year, so asked all my friends and family to donate to another woman with MS who was doing the walk in Vancouver. I also donated to Shemar Moore (the guy who used to play Malcolm on Y&R); he did the MS bike tour last year. His mother has MS.
This year, the walk in my community is cancelled due to the lack of a volunteer coordinator. I live in a small, fairly remote city and our local MS society is completely volunteer run.
Some day I hope to do the MS walk on Cape Cod. It is a 3 day, 50 mile walk. I have a pact with a friend of mine that he will do that walk with me someday, maybe even next year if I can plan my holidays around it.

Anyway, D, I would be happy to sponsor you. Thanks for bringing this up and providing the link to your page.
Good luck!
