Does anyone else get electrical shocks?

Does anyone else get electrical shocks?

There are times that I get the electric shocks so bad that I feel like I am being electrocuted from the inside out.

When they hit it's like an explosion and every part of my body is in pain. I start to shake, legs, arms and my head will turn. And I will yell very loudly.
Sometimes they will last a full day and other times just off and on for a few day's.

Any suggestion on how to calm them down?

Elizabeth

that sounds horrible... are you Dx with MS or anything yet?  Have you had tests done?  I get electric shocks once in awhile...and it will zap me quickly... and then stop.. it hurts but only for a few seconds... I'm not sure what is happening to you.. make sure you tell your Neuro about this...

take care

I agree with Wobbly that does sound horrible.  Without a dx of MS I do get shocks like if you have ever had an EMG.  It is a electric shock doesn't sound as severe as you have.
They can jerk my head at times but don't last long.  My Neuro didn't say much when I told him, but I agree tell you Neuro.  Keep us posted..

Best wishes!

WOW! That is no fun.  I get shocks also, but not nearly as bad as you.  My GP put me on Gabapentin for nerve pain.  I would ask your Neuro about this med if you are not already taking it.  It may calm down the pain and make it not as dibilitating.

I hope you get answers soon

Yes I have been finally dx. I will be going to the MS neuro on the 16th.

A positive MRI in 2007, negative LP in 2007. My last LP done in January came back positive for oligoclonal bands, my current neuro did a phone consultation with the MS specialist. I got in in 3 weeks.

Back to the electric shocks the small ones I can handle but when the big one comes. It's like and explosion.

I will tell the MS doctor at my appointment.

I need to go. My hubby and I are going to a 50's party tonight.
I won't be doing any dancing at least not like I did the night before my son was born. I won a dancing contest.

Thanks for answering.

Thanks for talking to me.

I have tried Gabapentin had a reaction to the medication. Yes I have had emg test it is kinda like that but put the power up.

My neuro that is sending me to the MS doctor. wants to do botox in my back. I asked him if he could oops and miss and get my face. Have any of you tried that?  also if botox doesn't work for the pain he wants to put in a beclofen pump. I already have an insuline pump now maybe a beclofen pump. I wonder how many pumps can a person have?

Talk to you all later
going out for the night.

Hi there! I get shocks in my neck that are very quick and it will go out my arm and sometimes down my back. It hurts but isn't like you have described however it is painful and will make me jump and shutter and is noticeable to those around me when it happens! Often my head has either just turned or will turn. I have no DX and no one as of yet has been able to tell me what this is. I would definitely talk to the Dr about it and good luck! Let us all know what you find out because I too am very curious to know!

~taking it one day at a time~
