Does fibromyalgia exclude ms

Can you have fibromyalgia and also have ms? My doctors seem to act like the one excludes the other.

Hi! I'm very new here, and to all my DX's... But I have been suffering for almost 10 years! Finally starting to get somewhere between my reumatologist and neurologist! They have diagnosed my with polyarthralgia (a combination of migratory arthritis, secondary to fibromyalgia) and MS. My neuro made it very clear (about the only thing!) that my severe joint/muscle pain was not from my MS, but was in the same catergory of autoimmune diseases... Just more than 1. Wish I could understand more but I'm really overwelmed right now. He says the MS is my immune system attacking my CNS and the other is my immune system attacking  my joints/muscles. My immune system is just CRAZY!

Good luck & hope you have an easier time with all this!

If that is what your doctor thinks, then you need to find a new doctor.  There are several people here who have more than one disease/illness.

In fact, one pitfall we often have to remind ourselves here is not to forget it isn't always our MS that is causing our problems.  We tend to balme everything on our MS .....

be well,
