I like EZ Pdf too. I got it free on Amazon back when I had that installed. Im going to work on getting it back on my phone tonight. :) and that's a great deal for the Gal Tab 2!! I miss black friday from over here. Headed soon to see family though and a day in the outlets will make me feel better. ;)
Oh, and since you already have a Note you may already know this, but I recently got a capacitive stylus and it really helps a lot. Lol, I tend to have "fat fingers" when it comes to these touch screens. It will also work for the Galaxy tablets. I lucked up and got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 on Black Friday for 278.00.
Do a Google search on Amazon Appstore apk and you should be able to findit and iinstall it as an "unknown source" apk by going to Settings-
Security, and selecting the Unknown Sources checkbox.
I absolutely love, love, love, my SGS3. I have installed some apps that allow for notation, such as EZ PDF, as well as some sketch and drawing apps.
Hope this helps!
https://itunes.apple.com/it/app/dragon-dictation/id341446764?mt=8 The version for iphone is not exactly the same, but I'd imagine still useful, Sarah. :)
Minnie, I LOVE swiftkey. Very helpful! And thanks for reminding me about the amazon appstore. I need to find a cracked version of the app as it's not available outside the US, but I had it before and did get a bunch of great apps on it. Glad you reminded me of that. :) How do you like the SGS3? My hubby has the glaxaxy nexus and we like it. I think my Note is approaching the end of it's life and will need to think about what to choose as a replacement.
Hugs and smiles,
Laura
My parents have an iPhone.. I can check and see if they can get it and if it works. Which version of iPhone do you have? Theirs is the 4S.
anybody know if this works on iPhone?
Free Amazon App of the Day... XiiaLive Pro streaming radio, normally 3.99. Just downloaded it... Awesome! Bet you and your hubby would like it!
If you're looking for a great, predictive keyboard (I'm an extremely slow texter but sometimes can't use the voice to text since I work in a rat maze, lol) check out SwiftKey X. You also may want to go to their website because they periodically look for beta testers.
Have a great day, hugs,
Minnie :)
Ahhh, so you're a "rooter" too! I haven't rooted my SGS3 yet, but do have a rooted Nexus and EVO 3D. The first one I rooted was the LG Optimus S, then the EVO 4G.
If you haven't already, install the Amazon app store apk. I have gotten some fantastic apps from their free app of the day promotion. For example, a while back I got Office Pro Premium (not just the reader, but the one you can actually create Office documents with) and the racing game, Need For Speed. The great thing is, as with the Google Play Store, once you purchase or get an app from them, you can install it on any of your other devices, including tablets, as long as you use the same account.
I didn't try any of the Samsung apps initially, but saw on one of the Android forums about some they have to offer and they are pretty good.
Wow, so cool to meet a fellow Android nut!
Hugs,
Minnie
Thanks for the info about Samsung's SVoice. I'll try it out! I like that the new Dragon can open apps now too. :) I have the Note, but never tried samsung's apps out too much. Now I'm running a developer version of 4.1 (the official update is taking for-ev-er!) and love the new apps that they're dishing out with the new update if they ever release it. :)
You sound a lot like me.. I love tech tinkering! :) I'd love to hear any other recommendations you have for other useful android apps if you have any particular favs. :)
Smiles,
Laura
It's good that more people will be able to use this. The update also has additional features, for example when you get a phone call or text you are prompted as to whether or not you would like to respond.
Another great app, if you are a Samsung Galaxy or Note owner, is SVoice. You can use it to verbally open apps. Lol, I'm such a nerd ;)
Hope all is well with you all,
Hugs, Minnie
Hi, just wanted to update this. A new version of this software has just come out that is compatible with more devices and is able to perform more functions as well.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Laura
dragon dictation for the Iphone is a free app.
love it,

Guitar_grrrl... I'm not sure how this compares to the Dragon for iphone, but there are a few Dragon products that are free in the apple store (but not compatible with my old ipod touch so I couldn't try them out.) It might be worth having a try.
PastorDan... Sorry it's not compatible with your phone yet. My phone is from 2011 too, but I recently got an update that enables it to run this. I didn't at first realize that this app - so far - is only compatible with Android Ice Cream and Jelly Bean. Hopefully the finished product will be work on more phones as it's really quite useful.
Minnie... how cool are you! Rooting you phones, etc. :) It is fun and I like to do that stuff too, but with the help of my husband. He gets me the files I need from the xda developer forum and who knows where else but I really don't know enough about it to do it without his help. He's actually the one that saw this app on lifehacker.com and let me know about it. Sorry your vision is double. I know that can be very annoying. Hope it improves soon.
PlayStore tells me my device (DroidX) isn't compatible with it. I read a lot of reviews labeled "[device] for an older version." Maybe when they get past the Beta stage they'll work on something for us poor folks who are stuck way back in 2011.
How cool is that!?! Do you know if they'll make it for iPhone, too? I'd use it, especially when my tremor is bad!
It's fantastic! I'm able to type on a computer keyboard because I know where the keys are after typing for so many years. Texting and using my phone to post, however, takes me way longer! I enjoy playing with smart phones, it is a hobby of mine, and I root all of my phones :D
This app is fantastic and helps me do things so much quicker. My eyesight has gotten really bad lately, and even though I have glasses now, my up close vision is awful and double :(
Thanks again for sharing, I'm sure a lot of people will be able to be more productive with it!
Hugs, Minnie :)
You're welcome! Glad you like it. Isn't it cool? :)
Wow, that is an awesome app! Thanks again :)
