Me too! Feels like doing things with a big glove on and it's so hard sometimes! And then anxiety exacerbates it. :/
My issue doesn't seem to be with dropping but more grasping things or tasks that require dexterity with my fingers.
I seem to fumble more on these tasks when I focus harder. It annoys me to no end that the more I concentrate the worse it gets so I have to wonder if the stress/anxiety of not being able to do it easily just throws me off completely.

My physiotherapist told me to watch my hand. This helps
unless the item is too heavy for the level of weakness -- then I switch fast.
The dropping days frustrate me as well. One day about a month ago I dropped three different things, one which broke and two which involved a messy clean up. Sigh. I understand.
I have worked hard to pay attention and still drop things. Sometimes I drop things when I'm not paying attention. It's when I'm trying really hard and drop things. Mostly a problem with small things.
I tried to use a screwdriver to screw something together. That's the only thing I was doing. It had my full attention and I dropped the screw and screwdriver (each randomly) so many times I had to stop and go cry. My husband kept telling me he would do it but I was determined. I had to give up. Sad
I have the same problem also, and I have to agree with Kyle on this one. I have to always be aware of what I am doing when picking things up. Sometimes it does not help and I drop them anyway. I do receiving the company I work for and it gets interesting at times. I can be lifting a 50 pd bucket or just a small package. Usually it is the small package that I drop.
It can be very amusing sometimes when I play the "pick it up" ten times game. Not really it usually upsets me.

I agree with Kyle. I'd started to respond earlier, but I didn't phrase it well. Kyle expresses what I intended to. I find I have to be more mindful of my physical actions and my physical space, and this can be a conscious process. But, that doesn't change or always compensate for the sensory changes that happen due to MS.
Hi YM - I sort of agree with your doc, and sort of with you. I drop things far more often than I used ti. I have to remind myself that I am holding something in my hand.
The paying attention is important, but it wouldn't be necessary if I dodn't have MS.

I have the same issue with my right hand and leg. I drop things all the time. I can't imagine it an attention thing. Many times I go to grab something off the counter top only to send it smashing to the floor. Its like my hand didn't get the message.
The attention thing is interesting. Did the doc elaborate more on that?
