EMG same as NCS

EMG question

when i went for my day admission for my LP and emg and ncs they were running very late and were all rushed i was due to to have a electromyography the letter said the ncs was standed and only a EMG would be done under a doctors requst which the letter said for both to be done, i had the ncs the pads and eletric currents he was only going to do my leg but i get nerve pain all over so told him to do my arms and hands too which he did and both lower leg and feet but i wanted him to do the pelvis area too as i have alot of problem with my thighs and hips going numb and giving me nerve pain but he didnt seem to use anything different.

So are the EMG the same as the NCS?

when i got back up and asked the nurse she seemed confused, and asked if id had the EMG which i said i had the currents through my leg thing yes and she said that was a EMG so im really confused.

Any thoughts?
