I know many of us suffer from digestive track disorders.  Several conversations have surrounded MiraLax and the cost.  I know Lu know of something that works like MiraLax and costs much less.

However, I saw this in my digestive health smart brief and thought it might interest someone.

Perrigo gets FDA OK for OTC generic constipation drug
The FDA has approved Perrigo Co.'s over-the-counter bowel drug Polyethylene Glycol 3350 to treat occasional constipation. The generic will be marketed under store brand labels and is comparable to Schering-Plough's MiraLAX, the company said. Reuters (10/6)

I hope this generic doesn't remove the polyethelyene glycol from RX status .... this stuff is dirt cheap by prescription, especially if you order the 90 supply (be prepared for a big box with lots of bottles! LOL).  I can't imagine any OTC being cheaper than what I pay right now.

For those of you without insurance, this is great news because Miralax is ridiculously expensive.
