"Feet" not MS???

This forum goes so fast I sure can't keep up with it. I'm amazed how you folks do it!

Somewhere here (don't know where) I saw a comment or observation that pain or tingling, etc., in the feet is not associated with MS, but is just 'peripheral neuropathy' from some source. Did I get this right?

I'd sure like info on this one. Thanks.

As a old veteran of MS, I can tell you that tingling and pain in my feet, IS one of the symptoms I suffer from.  But yes, it CAN be caused by peripheral neuropathy, especially in a diabetic.  But peripheral neuropathy, yes; can be a result of a neurolgocial problem, such as it is in my case.  My physician feels that it is due to the spinal lesion that I have in my upper thoracic spine.

I remember someone saying that their defective neuro dismissed the notion of MS because it couldn't cause pain or tingling in the feet.  This is pure Horsefeathers.  

The forum has really grown exponentially in the last couple months.  We only started in late April and we have over a hundred repeat posters and, I supect, another hundred or so that lurk and read.  Hi!  you guys!

It has always been a close-knit and fairly intimate forum.  So even with the increased posting (well over a 100 post a day sometimes) we still manage to keep up with each other and support each other through the crises.  My intent is that we always maintain the close friendly quality and strive to provide good information, support and direction, especially to those cught in the limbo of losing their active selves to undiagnosed neurological problems.  

I hope it remains a "good read."

HI. Not only tingling and numbness but also burning in the dorsum of the feet (if burning in both feet's dorsum could be also indicative of diabetes, so people need to get checked for their sugar levels too). Hope it helps.

I also have burning painful feet that go numb with electrical shocks,my right foot is never at rest.But this can be caused by other neurological disorders.

As Quix has stated this board has grown and it has become a fantastic cyber family.

I have had burning on the soles of my feet - I thought I'd gotten splinters from somewhere until I realised it was both feet, right was the worst though.

I get tingling and numbness too - sometimes it feels like I have a few flies on my foot and I'll look down and realise there's nothing there.

I also have tingling and numbness in my feet.  There are certain spots on my feet that you can touch and I'll go insane but maybe right next to it you could stick a needle in it and I wouldn't feel anything.  Weird huh?  Sometimes they burn and other times they feel like I'm trying to lift cement blocks.  

There are lots of symptoms you can have when your dealing with something that is neurological or auto-immune.  I have MS so it is pretty coman for problems with your feet.  I hope this helps some.

I've had off and on tingling/numbmess in my feet through earlier attacks. During one period last year I had excruciating stabbing pains in my feet which luckily lasted for only a second or two or I wouldn't have been able to stand them. That went on for several months and then disappeared gradually, along with other symptoms.

This go-round it's only my right foot, and it's just stinging and burning on the top outside. Over the weeks that's extended up my shin to almost the knee.

I see the neuro next week, for this and and other things, by far the most serious of which is this feeling of rocking and swaying. So we'll see. Last time he totally dismissed the foot part. Red flag.
