I have done 3 posts over the past 8 weeks with symptons I was sure was MS. I have seen a Nuerologist at RMH and had some neurological tests done and a lengthy chat about my MRI findings. He has said; it is definately not MS but I have scars from the whiplash contusions.
I have parcial lesions in a length of 5cm on cervical dorsal column spinal cord from C2 through to C6, he has substancuated that it is from the whiplash I had in the motor car accident four years ago. I don't know how they can read what is what on a MRI and can tell one thing from another but he seemed solid in his words.
I have the answers to my gait and why I stumble into things when I walk if I don't look at my feet when I am walking. I have lost my proprioception, I did not even know what that was, so it is a huge relief to know why I this has been happening to me. I am not crazy.....after all. I had a few other problems but he said to me these scars are the answer to all of my problems of what I have been complaining of for 4 years.
No one checked my cervical spinal cord, just kept saying it was not possible, not possible when I complained. All they had focused on was my injuries on my L3/4, 4/5 & 5/S1.
It just pays to keep seeking answers guys, eventually you will get a Doctor who does care and looks outside the square for you.
I am writing a letter to send to the other specialists I had seen, my story may help someone else and enlighten the Doctor to also think of the cervical spine as being the culprit.
Thank you for all of your help, advice plus supporting words.
