Finally I can go on with my life!!!

Had my neuro appointment today.  He had already called me a couple of weeks ago to let me know that the LP came back with O bands helping confirm my dx.

He also said I am in the SPMS stage.  I see him again in 3 months and then probably every 6 months after that unless there is a problem.

So now I can put the diagnostic process and ups and downs behind me and move on. That takes a lot of stress off of me.

Now I will continue to do what I can and sleep the rest of the time.

LA.. its good that you finally have answers even if you already knew.. I'm glad you can get on with things now.  

was this your first LP or second?  I had a LP and it was neg.. I heard somewhere that it could change to positive later on??  Is that true?

Thank you everyone.  It is a weird thing to be dx'd, un dx'd, and dx'd again.  
Actually I never accepted the un dx thing.  That happened in January of this year.

The spinal tap confirmed the dx in April so the wait was not that long, but it was frustrating.

I am going to call our state medical board and report the doctor who un dx'd me because he was a real jerk.

I know this is not the best show to watch but sometimes I watch Chelsy Lately.  This doctor reminded me of Chewy!! HA!!

Anyway, My neurontin was increased.  I don't feel so guilty for napping now!! :-)

Not much to add except, that I am so glad the diagnostic process and it's attendant stress is over with. Now you can concentrate on the important things in life...you and your family.

Its hard to get my head around why they needed to put you through all the carpola again, i'm sure your glad its over though it would of been nicer if they handed out a spoon full of sugar. Maybe one day, you'll be up to letting us know, what you have learned from doing it all again, i'm sure there will be some pertinent pearls of wisdom that you wish to impart/warn/scream!

Gee, yeah...  What they all said, so far.

I hope that this release from the stress of the unknown -- or unconfirmed -- will be a huge weight off your shoulders, and that this, in turn, releases you from some of that horrible fatigue.  Too many of us know first-hand what that can do to us, and I pray that you are now past it.

Don't be a stranger.  We need your input -- Golly, look at all those stars next to your name!!  ;>D

Good for you, LA. Now you can put those crazy people behind you and concentrate on staying as healthy as possible and taking care of your family. You went through a great deal of doubt and misery because of incompetency and laziness on the part of so-called medical professionals.

Here's wishing you never come across such people again.

So glad to hear that you have a firm answer!  I know it's not an answer anyone would want to hear, but it's good to have the doctors agreeing on what's causing your sx.

I'm so sorry you had to make a second go through the diagnostic proving ground.  It's no wonder you are feeling relief despite receiving notice the disease has advanced and is now secondary progressive type.

Let us know how you are doing LA.  I'm wondering if the realization of disease progression might not fully impact you until you take a well deserved post testing break.  Be good to yourself.

  An odd congrats of sorts. It is always a great thing when we can move on from the looking for a dx to living life - so congrats on that count.

I like that you say that it wil take a lot of stress off of you! Stress is brutal on us MSers

Im not familiar with meds for SPMS as I am still in the RRMS phase. Do you still take DMD's now? I hope that you have a very fine doctor and he treats you well.
