Footdrop

Do many of you have footdrop?  Mine began early on.  Now, I am wearing AFO's on both legs to keep my toes out of the carpet, and thus my face out of the carpet, too.

I notice my legs becoming more fatigued more quickly.  I have also graduated from a cane to forearm crutches much of the time when I feel I need the extra support.  Is a wheelchair right around the corner?

My lumbar puncture, the last of hte tests to be performed is scheduled for Tuesday, November 9th.  Then, hopefully my neurologist will make a definite diagnosis.  Although, he has been calling it MS all along.

Thank you for this forum.  I appreciate the help and information it has given me.

Foot drop was my first symptom in 2006.  I wore an AFO for about 3 years and used crutches for about a year.  I've been able to get out of my AFO over the last 6 months. It's a slow process, and I just did a little at a time. The pool was my best friend for rehab.

For about a year and a half I couldn't walk more than a block with 2 crutches and an AFO. Now, I can walk almost 2 miles with nothing.
