Forearm Muscle Pain With Slight Numbness

Hi All,

Wondering if someone could guild me in the right way, I have 2 questons really.

1) For weeks now I have been suffering with my right forearm, my muscle seems to be inflamed alot. I have noticed that it hurts when I lift my arm & stretch it out, but when I put it down or across my chest it does not hurt really. My forearm feels quite numb & heavy & my friend noticed that when I walk my right arm does not really swing compared to my left arm. My fingers do not seem to be working like they should but that is only on small tasks, like trying to open a letter.

But I have started what I think is Restless Leg started about the same time as my forearm did. When I relax either in the day or at night in bed not everyday, I have this very strong weird sensation in my right leg, then all of a sudden my right leg kicks out which I cannot control, it can last between 20mins to a hour. My husband looks at me gone out asking what I am doing, I had one episode where my right leg was doing this, it been going on for a hour, then all of a sudden my whole body did a quick jerk & I was okay then.

2)I have moved area so I have had to change my doctors, but I do not want to go to my new doctors until I know that my medical file has arrived at their surgery. Can anyone give my any advice how to address this new doctor when I go about my arm, maybe Restless Leg & about past happenings. I might be lucky & have a doctor that does listen & put me in the right direction. I am so worried that he/she will not look into my medical file with what has been happening & tests that have been done, my old doctor was going to refer me to see a Neuro because of everything going on, but of cause she cannot now due to my move.

Kind Regards
Louby

Loub, are you right handed?  What you describe in your arm sounds a lot like the tendonitis that I had quite a few years ago.  It still sometimes flares up when I spend too much time playing Windows Solitaire, or any other mouse-intensive task.

My right for  arm is similar to yours.  It usually comes along or before a relapse.  The steroids helped, and then I did exercises to strengthen the muscles again.

It sounds more like myoclonus in your leg, rather than Restless Leg Syndrome.  Or possibly tonic spasm.  I get this  in my back.  It starts out with a weird tingling sensation that actually doesn't hurt - sometimes it's pleasant.  Then my back will arch, sometimes throwing my head back.

My right forearm is weak and the elbow is really sore, so I think it's a combination of spasticity and muscle weakness.  In my experience the two go together.

The best approach with any new doctor is to tell them your symptoms, and let them draw their own conclusions.
