Gabapentin

Has anyone expierence swelling of the face with gabapentin? I know it can be a side effect. My question is; Is this an allergic reaction or is the dosage too much? Actually my face feels stiff at times and cheeks get sore. If it is the gabapentin, what would be the alternative? Thank you med help family........

Thank you so very much.....I do have muscle and nerve damage.....I take gab.for my pain,I don't get siezures. I also take baclofen.my legs get stiff when I don't take the gab 3x a day .
Alex my medicine cabinet is starting to look like a mini pharmacy. Monday I will call a pain management clinic to hear other options. What do you take the trileptal for?

You need to talk to your Doctor. I could not do Gabenpentin. I did Trileptal instead. I had no issues with it. Then I went to a pain clinic where they think outside the box. They had me on so much medication before the pain clinic it was not funny with each symptom they upped dosages or added pills. I was a walking Pharmacy. I was on 4 anti seizures at once. Now I am on none. They have to keep tweaking at the pain clinic and it takes time, but I take way less medication and do not feel as gross from side effects. Unfortunately there is no one size fits all solution. It depends on if you have nerve or muscle pain or both. Plus many of us have issues besides MS. I for example have MS and Cancer.

I also use Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation and Therapeutic Dressage (horse back riding) for pain control. A lot of my pain is made worse by a weak core and stress. I have to keep my core strong, stretch, and use mindfulness to keep the stress down.
