Bumping this hoping Quix might weigh in on this
Thanks Lu, I appreciate all the support from everyone on this wonderful forum!!
Tammy,
this sure sounds like you have gone from bad to worse. The kidneys are nothing to be messing around with, as you already know.
Although the cost of the doctor appts are adding up fast, you can't afford to not go to either of these. I'll hope that both of them are able to come to a speedy and accurate diagnosis and not drag this out.
hang in there.

I know its neverending!! I feel like I woke up in a nightmare 3 yrs ago that I can't seem to escape! Yes, I have had alot of pain especially in my back. I'm running a low grade fever so the spasms are awful & much worse than usual as are the annoying twitches all over. I asked my PCP when he called today if the raised potassium levels could be causing the cramps & spasms & he said mabey the cramps but feels the lesions on my brain are causing the spasms , twitches & my bowel & bladder issues. I was told to stick to the low potassium diet that my previous nephrologist had put me on but if all you can afford to eat is beans & potatoes thaen what are you gonna do. I have to quit taking the prednisone this time after 7 days because of concern over my kidneys ( or at least until I see the nephrologist). The neurontin does help but the zanaflex isn't doing anything for the spasms so I guess I have to live with them.
Good grief Tammy kidney disease is nothing to fool around with. I am surprised no one had checked you in so long. Are you in a lot of pain with this...not like there isn't enough pain as there is.
I am grateful for this new GP. He seems to be on the ball.
Let me know what happens. I know it seems like a long wait. I am surprised the nephrologist appt isn't sooner.
We will talk soon, terry
