I was wondering if there is anyone ele on Gilenya who is also having this  side effect?

Thanks,

i'm to start this med this week or next mon/tue.

i already have intestinal/gastro issues which according to one neuro is part of (my) ms.

i heard these symptoms you meniton due happen to some patients. these type symtpoms go away so they say.

my neuro has only had one patient go off gelenya due to toleration. he said the other 50+ ms patients he has put on gilenya this year are doing ok.

beats me but i'm ready to get off rebif. after a few years my body is just saying drop it.

sure hope it gets better for you, the gilenya that is. i'm so hoping its a decent med for us ms'rs.

yeah, give it a try, and in what ever time frame is right for you, if it isn't working well, chat with your doc about something else.

Hi Shell,

Thanks for the link. I ended up calling Novartis and they said thi sometimes happens to people the first month beginning Gilenya. I then called my neuro who agreed that some of patients also experienced this at the beginning. Typical of her, she forgot to mention this to me when she put me on this med!
She did suggest that I only take the pill every other day for a week to get my system used to it and then check back with her after the week. I didn't take a pill today and felt fine :)

As always, I will give this a try for a week and see where it goes from here.

Shoshin was also on it during trial. Haven't seen her in a while, but she's very versed.

I do not see abdominal pain as one of the commone here from a brief search. This includes trial data, and post marketing study data.  This is a good release with a lot of info:

Hi Deb - Giving this a healthy bump for you. Off the top of my head Opie74 has been on it for a bit - maybe you can hit her up?

I do hope it's nothing that lasts, or causes you to have to conisider a switch :(

If I come across something in the literature, I'll post it...

Hang in there,
(((hugs)))
