Had my Cystoscopy done today

Hi Guys,
I had my rigid cystoscopy done today and my urethral and bladder dilatation.  Lucky for me I was under general anesethetic..

I have no cancers and nothing obvious on exam that would be causing my burning problems.  He still thinks it could be cystitis or urethral syndrome but has not ruled out that it's not just neurological after all.

I will know if the dilatation thing has helped in a week after the soreness goes from the procedure, apparently it makes it worse for a day or two and then it come right.  I feel bright, happy and not too sore.  I will ask more questions when I go back and see the urologist in his rooms, as he ducked out and seen me inbetween day surgery, so I didn't ask him heaps of questions but he did tell me that unless the inflammation of my bladder was really bad that cystitis/urethral syndrome was more an exclusion diagnosis.  Oh well at least I know I don't have any nasties.

Perhaps the burning in my legs and my new found thigh spasms are connected.  Who knows.
Well that's my update.

Cheers,,
Udkas.

Thanks for the replies, I feel a bit worse for wear today, but overall not too bad. Damn shame it's not raining, I am not working and I can't ride my horse. Damn, my bits are too sore to try that one.

I am leaking a bit of urine, it just leaks out, but I was having issues with this before the procedure but now it seems worse.  He said that I could have some stress incontinence from coughing, sneezing etc. but it should settle down but this is just little gushes, (like when you have your period and a bit floods out)...sorry for the graphics, I hope this settles down and that the procedure hasn't made my bladder issues worse as that was one of the things I raised with him before I had the dilatation done...

I am so bored, I normally would be working and then if I am not working I would be doing something constructive at home but best take things easy today.

Cheers,
Udkas.

Thank goodness you were under anesthesia...the words rigid and urethral made me shudder.....

I figure that every test they put us through has the potential to at least rule something out or rule something in.  It is all pieces to the puzzle..

Like you said, at least you know you don't have any nasties.  :)

Let us know what the doctor says when you see him next

Sending you gentle hugs,
Chrisy
