I have seen some posts on muscle twitches but does anyone have them all day long and all over their body?  I have two little lesion but the twitching is EVERYWHERE :(  I know it could be much much worse but it starting to concern me.  Do these twitches cause damage?  Are they a sign of something worse to come?  My neurologist dismissed it and said that it is normal but nothing I have gone through in the past year is "normal" and I don't know what "MS" normal is!!  As always, any input is appreciated!!!

I am not sure what your diagnosis is.

MS twitching is usually but not always in certain places. For me its my left arm and sometimes left leg. There is a neurological disorder called  benign fasciculation syndrome where you have muscle twitching all over constantly. but it is benign.

Fasciculations in MS and otherwise are harmless.

my father had ms, he had twitches all the time, usually in his hands and his leg. It was normal to watch him twitch, it was painful in his hands, but he couldnt feel his leg he was actually parlized in one leg after the onset got worse. Not saying this would happen to everyone just telling you what I saw my dad go through. I talked to him alot about ms. We had a friend that was walking and had really no symptoms of ms and then one day she was in a bed for a couple weeks then she was up and walking again. So i dont think there is a normal ms... So just like my dad and me trying to figure out what i have, I guess you just have to roll with what comes your way and be strong. Some days it was really easy for my dad, and same for me. I havent been diagonosed with it, but have been through 4 specialists so far. So hang in there there is answers, just have to find the right people. good luck

Hi. I'm sorry you're being driven nutty by twitches. However, all-over fasciculations are not a sign of MS. MS symptoms are the result of lesions in the central nervous system, and no one has lesions all over.

As Alex says, there is such a thing as Benign Fasciculation Syndrome, which can be extremely annoying but otherwise is not serious. Some infectious diseases, such as Lyme, can cause problems 'everywhere' too. I don't know what has been ruled out for you, but if your doctor is not taking you seriously you need to find a better one. All of which is not to say you don't have MS, because it's quite possible to have MS and another illness simultaneously.

Best of luck,
ess

Just to clarify, in view of Mikey's post--

Her father, she says, had twitches all the time, but in his hands and leg, not all over. That's a crucial difference.
