Headaches and MS

Hello everyone~
I was just wondering if headache has a place in the MS diagnosis?  I, for some time now, have been waking up in the middle of the night maybe up to three times a week, with these "blinding, thumping headaches-- feels like "brain pain."  I don't like to have to get up in the "wee hours" to take medicine, and try to just get myself back to sleep, but the pain is making it necessary to do just that!  Fortunately an 800mg Ibuprofen will take care of it enough to let me sleep, but not always, and I don't like to take the "heavy meds" in the middle of the night. Does this happen to any of you?  I have had migraines all of my life, but these are different.
Thanks in advance for any information you could share.  Denise A.
