Heat, MS, and pregnancy

Hi all, I know that I have been gone for a while.  It has been in the upper 90's for 3 weeks!  I had not noticed how much MS had changed my thinking about outside activities.  I saw a commercial for the water park and thought "How could anybody think that being out in that oppressive heat all day can be fun?"  I noticed that I have been avoiding going anywhere for the past few days.  When did this change sneek up on me?  It is amazing how much our thinking can change over time and us not notice.

We bought a new car last week.  The torture of car shopping in 100+ heat is tremendous.  I will say that two dealerships (owned by the same family) were very accommodating.  We discussed what we were interested in inside.  They brought a few of each one around and cranked them to cool for 10 minutes BEFORE they took us outside. It turns out that the wife of a manager also has MS. I wish that the rest of the public was educated about the effects of heat and MS. We did end up buying form that dealership (after my husband dragged me to many more in the heat.)

Has anyone else noticed a radical change in their thinking because of the effects of heat or other MS side-effects?

I have noticed that I don't push myself when I workout anymore because I get an "icy-hot" sensation in my legs.

Glad to hear that the dealership was so helpful to your needs.  The world needs more compassionate people.

Best wishes!

Hi  Opie,

Long time..no see.  Yes, I arrange my activities around the  heat an try to get as much accomplished in the early morning or later in the evening when it is cooler.

I hope all is well with the little one in the oven. Take it easy in this awful heat!!!
