Heat Intolerance

Hi,

Could people please share their experience on heat intolerance.  I would like to hear how it affects people.

I am hypothyroid so often feel cold....even with treatment....  So far no obvious heat intollerance.  But, I've noticed that if I have something warm on my lap (ie. my laptop), then the burning sensations in my legs intensify. Could this be part of it?  I sleep in Aircon, work in air con., and even gym in aircon.

Anyway, thanks.  Off on work travels for the next week.  Will catch up when I get back.

S

I am not able tolerate heat, whether it be outside, in a warm room, or a hot shower. My legs get weak, I get very tired, a little fuzzy, a little later my feet and left leg will spasm (more so than usual). I do not have a diagnosis yet, but this is one of my more bothersome symptoms - has practically ruined my summer. I used to sit outside an dread after work everyday. Now I can only go out if it's cool - not much this summer!  I haven't put anything warm on my lap, so I don't know what would happen. Curious now, though.

Have a good trip. Feel well

I would suggest putting your laptop on a towel and try typing that way. The towel would absorb the heat from the laptop. Or you could use a pillow or blanket as a suggestion.

I have heat intolerance. Found that out during a shower in may, before I was diagnosed. It was not fun. Ended up going to ER. That was my first official bad day of MS. Now I take cool showers. I don't like it. I really miss my hot showers, but the side effects aren't worth it! Have a safe trip.  Karina

I haven't experienced the heat intolerance so far.  I keep testing myself in a hot shower, but I haven't noticed a worsening of Sx yet.

I don't know ~ the laptop could worsen your Sx.  It seems like it would be "heating" up the nerves in that area, thus possibly slowing them down.

Have a safe and fun work trip!!  Take care and will catch 'ya later!!  Pat :)
