Heat Sensitivity ?

by IUMOM2, Mar 31, 2008 01:48PM
Like many of us here, I am still in the process of being diagnosed. I have been very heat sensitive since this started.

When I get overheated the tingling, numbness, and vibrating type sensations increase. It can be from being outside in the heat, being under too many blankets, or even using a heating pad.

Taking a hot bath is out for me too. In addition to the sensory symptoms, I get very weak and fatigued. So, my question is..Is there any other illnesses that can cause these symptoms? I'm assuming that these symptoms could occur with other neurological conditions too?

Thanks for any help.

Kitten,

Nice to meet you too. I did look into hyperhydrosis, but I don't think that applies to me. I don't sweat much at all. Are there any other symptoms that go along with it?

Thanks.

Hi There and Welcome to our Forum!  I have been diagnosed and I do have a sensitivity to heat and I does drive me nuts.  I personally don't know of any other disease that causes this but a hot bath, hot tub parties and a trip to Mexico would be completely out for me!

Weakness, instability, giddyness (if that's a word) and I have always had a sensitivity to heat and often wonder if the MS is why...since I was a little girl the heat has always bothered me.

Good luck with your search and again, welcome to the forum and I hope you stay around...it will be nice to get to know you!

Hi,

I am did yoga Berkham in 104 degree room, that's how I found this site. It did me in, I have wondered if I really have to stay out of the heat if I get the DX for sure the 15th I love warmth, dream of hot tubs, heating blankets, and live in the desert, so likely I have MS, what does this mean for me?

I have been meaning to ask the question but geez I really wanted a hot tub, I never figured the correlation of syptomns to heat before this episode but then I never thought of it as a factor before??? Course I have been avoiding learning anything about MS for many many years my head is now out of the sand!

I am sure more will reply to you like the answers above, and tell you if there is another illness out there for you to research, but in the mean time welcome to this forum I found great knowledge is shared here.

I am not diagnosed and I am very heat sensitive so much so lately that I can not stand heat on in my home if it makes me feel more than just warm. I feel like I can not breathe and I get electric shocks all over my back and in other parts of my body. It can also feel like millions of prickles on your skin. I get so distressed that if I cannot get cool quickly I am beside my self. Heat leaves me weak and so tired I can barely move. I have my baths warm only as that is all I can take. The funny thing is sometimes my body will feel over heated but my feet will be freezing and then other times my feet are like they are sunburnt and feel strange when walking.
