Heat intolerance

Heat intolerance

Dear all:  My best regards and positive energies for you all.

I was just wondering how does heat intolerance show up (if at all) in any of you.  Do you feel dizzy, or tired, or any other sensation in particular?

The reason I'm asking is because I've noticed that in warmer weather my back and neck get really hot, and I just get an abnormal, awful sensation overall that is really hard to describe (like a buzzing sensation?  I don't think it's Lhermitte's)

Thanks for your input and God bless you all!

Pablo

Hi. For most MSers, heat causes a temporary worsening of symptoms. So cog fog, weak muscles, and whatever else happens often will get worse.

For me, though, things are different. In temperatures that used to feel normal, and that seem normal for others, I get uncomfortably hot and perspire profusely, especially on my head and the back of my neck.

65 degrees is about the max for my comfort point. Two summers ago it was 75 degrees. Last summer I ran my AC 24/7, which not only cost a fortune but made me feel all closed in and miserable. When summer gets here in a few months for those of us in the northern hemisphere, you will see lots of posts about cooling garments and other ways to beat the heat.

Hi, Pablo-

I am currently undx'ed, but I do have heat intolerance.  For me, my fatigue goes through the roof.  I also feel nauseous.  My vision gets blurry and my legs feel like I am dragging 100 lb weights and I get off balance.

Thanks for your replies.  Essdipity, your description sounds very similar to what I feel (and I've also noticed that, the colder it gets, the better I feel).  I wonder if there is anything we ca do about heat intolerance, other than wearing cooling vests (I haven't bought one yet).

The heat is the worst, but symptoms seem to get better as soon as you cool down.I was on the beach last year,I had gotten so over heated I barely made it back to the house which was 1 block away, after sitting in the central air for @ 3 hrs. symptoms started to subside. Scariest episode ever....
