Hi, All!

by Quixotic1, Jul 05, 2009 06:22PM
I may be resurfacing.  Finally the noise of the work became too hard to handle and we moved temporarily into a residence hotel.  They have been cutting a new window into the side of the upstairs and cutting the doorway for the elevator.  I began getting sick from the noise and not sleeping even more.

I feel better and will try to be more present on the forum.  I appreciate your patience.  My Co-Cls really have had to carry the ball and have done so beautifully.

I will try to get to some of the questions that have been sent my way.

Its good to see you pop through here.  Its even better to hear you went to a hotel and left the chaos of remodeling behind.  Please keep taking care of yourself first - we're getting by here, but of course miss you lots.

feel better,
L

We are so happy to have you back.  Sorry you all had to retreat to a hotel, but at least you can be guaranteed some peace and quiet away from the construction zone.  Before you know it, the work will be done and you all will be back in your happy new home.

Take care and again, welcome back.

I'm glad to have you back!  My husband is a contractor and I know overwhelming the noise can be.  I went to Walmart and got a box of thick blue earplugs.  They really helped.

I am surprised you stuck it out as long as you did, but guess nothing about you should surprise me. I happen to think you are an amazing person.
Now maybe you can get caught up on some rest and relax a bit, than start feeling better...
Stress will get us every time, won't it, even the good kind of stress...
Take care and know you are in my thoughts and heart {{{~!~}}}

Happy your situation is on the upswing.  Went to a hotel once when our a/c went out & it was in the upper 90s, and the hotel's a/c quit right after lights out.  We pray nothing like that happens on your "camping adventure."

Welcome back (even if just briefly), and good for you for moving out so you could get some sleep. Sleep is crucial!

So does it sound like they're getting close to being done?  Staying in the hotel can't be cheap!

Hi Doc Q,

How the heck you suppose to sleep w/out that recliner???

Sorry that lil' ol' sleeping issue is visiting you and Essy.

I hope your residence inn is comfy, and that you're getting rested.  I couldn't imagine living in all that noise and chaos, but then like DJ said, you're pretty amazing.

It will be great to see you around more.

Tell me about it!  A month ago we had a new roof and siding trim and I was dreading the hammering at 7 in the morning for 3 days.  Uggghhh!  I can't stand even the slightest sound when I sleep so I put in earplugs anyway. Add to that  two pillows over my head  and the noisy tower fan turned up high. Didn't make much difference..

I've been wondering how your house was coming along.  We all want photos upon completion.  OMG an elevator - I could live in a 2-story with one of those!
