I have a question on multiple sclerosis treatment in the US?

I am not an American and also I dont live in the US, but I keep hearing that the doctors in the US are better at treating and especially advising patients on the treatment of MS.

I wanted to know if there are any programs or aid offered to people who are not from the US but who want to get treatment in the US for multiple sclerosis. This is important in terms of financial considerations and access to the best care. Thanks in advance for your replies.

I just heard a story on National Public Radio that there are now clinical trials for MS drugs being conducted in India (China, too) by Biogen Idec, one of the drug manufacturers.  You might ask around or check the clinicaltrials.gov  website.

If you read the headlines you know what a mess we are in here with healthcare costs - it would be very expensive to pay for yourself.  I hope the link Deb gave you will have some positive news for your situation.

best, Lulu
