Wishing you well on your tooth extraction and farewell of your husbands hand.
Are you going to an actual dentist or a ... "chain" ? *smirk*
I've had teeth pulled and really it's usually not a big deal at all. You'll be fine!

I've been through the exact same thing. It's actually a relief to get the stupid tooth out after all the pain and trouble it's caused. I never even got a replacement (it's a hidden molar), and I've frankly never missed the thing. I was awake for the whole thing--it didn't seem that bad to me, and certainly no worse than the three attempted root canals they did on the thing.
Follow all of their instructions about keeping it clean so that there is no infection--that's where the pain can come in. Ask about whether or not they can put a little skin flap over where it was because that can help.
Piece of Cake! It was hilarious cause my dentist (who is awesome by the way) had his bluetooth phone on his ear and it rang as he was halfway through pulling and I said to him "that better be your wife and she better be giving birth!"
What a laugh we had!
My dentist is also learning about accupuncture and he wants to set me up for a accupuncture treatment...will tell you in another post ok?
Anyway, I never imagined that having a tooth pulled could be so easy! And hubby's hand is just fine!
Wondered when the pain would kick in. I hope it isn't too long lasting. Good thing it waited till you got home or poor DH would have a really sore hand.lol
