I am a 40 year old female. I have had a tingling left foot (on and off) for about 5 years now. It seemed to move to my left side of my forehead. It disappeared for a few months, then came back. Now I still have a tingling foot, drooping left eye and left side of my mouth. I also have weakness in my left hand and forearm and left leg that come and go. All symptoms are present when my foot is tingling. I also have a numb tongue (left side), and tingling under the left side of my nose. I had an MRI ( no contrast). Neuro said he saw no lestions and said perhaps I had these symptoms and just had to live with them. If it's not MS, what could it be? Thank you for your time.
What else have you been tested for? MS is a dx of exclusion so I am assuming before the MRI, your dr performed multiple tests on you?
Has your dr said anything about what he/she suspects you might have or what they might test for next? I mean this is their job to dx you. If they aren't looking for a dx, I would move on to a new dr. Five years is too long to wait for them to start taking your sx seriously in my opinion.
Thanks for your reply. I forgot to mention that I had a visual symptom, it was like shimmering lights. It happened only once. Anyhow, thank you for your reply. The Dr. went straight to MRI without contrast, no other tests, I guess he was convinced it was MS. What else could cause these symptoms? Everything is concentrated on the left side of my body. Thanks again.
