If you have had the foot drop, was it painful?

If anyone has had foot drop, was it ever painful? Something is still going on with this foot, the top & bottom of the foot. Nothing like the ankle or such. I cannot move it well at all, and off and on it is extremely painful, even to put weight on. The pain will just start for no apparent reason, and bam, stop. Then start again.
The same leg is buzzing at different intervals.

I have an appointment Friday, I hope I can describe it accurately, and everything else that has been going on for the last month.

Just wondered if this rang a bell with anyone.

Thank ya,

Fizzle

I have foot drop, but it isn't overly painful. That doesn't mean much, however, since MS manifests itself in so many different ways for different people.

Is it possible that the way you walk to compensate for the foot drop aggravates and stirs up the pain?

I too use leg braces and as gooddays notes, there's only so much those can do.

Hope you find out something at the doc's!

Hi Ladies,

Thank you so much for your thoughts. I think I would describe like an intense ache, like a severe earache or toothache with buzzing.  It does indeed remind me of the leg pain, and a few days back, it ran from the top of the foot up the front of the leg.

Just wondering what sort of pain it is that you are having?  Is it sharp, needle like, aching or how would you explain it?

Hi Jazzy,

I have feet drop and I wear leg braces (I have a new pair now, which costs an arm, a leg and my good eye, but I guess they do not add to much due to MS, as you know MS ruins everything:), my out of pocket expenses do not seem to understand.

When my feet started to get in my way, the pain was as bad as it was around my entire legs.  What I mean is, MS pain, in my case, does not change its intensity from one part of my body to another, you just learn to deal with it.

I have worn three different leg braces for the past 12 years and once you get used to them the pain wanes because your feet stay in their regular stage, making it easier to walk and less risky for you.  One thing, you still need a cane.  If you need to use it, do it with style:)

I hope I have helped you a little and remember we have MS, but MS does not have us!!!!!!!
