I'm Excited

by Udkas, Nov 05, 2009 06:39PM
Hi guys,
yep I am easily excited.  Thanks to everyone on this forum getting their reports etc. it inspired me to make a phone call to my old neuro's office.  I am now getting copies of all correspondence to my GP, all reports, results of MRI, VEP SSEP etc. etc. LP.  I know my results of all testing was normal apart from my VEP testing but I am curious as to my reflexes etc. so I am hoping that I get that as well. Should be interesting reading and something that might be useful for my current neurologist.

The Doctors Rooms rang back they only keep files for 7 years and seeing I haven't seen him for 7 years they don't think they have them but they are going to keep looking! Damn!  I just thought it would be interesting to see how i faired in my neuro exam all those years ago etc. etc. Damn now I am disappointed!

Well, shoot, I'd think that if they didn't keep them on site, they would have a storage facility for older files.  I hope they find them; I know how you feel.  I like to keep track of my records, too.

So much for being excited.  Now if we can try to turn this into something we all can learn from -

this is exactly why we keep preaching to everyone, get your records, keep a copy of everything.

Hospitals and doctors all have different policies as to how long they keep these files -

here's hoping they turn up yours!

sorry for the twist,
Lulu

The laws in Australia have just changed.  I think they have changed it to 10 years now but my last visit to this neuro was I think about 7 years ago, I am hoping that he kept my stuff because originally he was certain I had MS.. so you would think they would keep it.  The admin lady was going to look in another area, so all I can do is hope.  I guess it's not that important but I was curious about my LP results if I did have any O bands etc.  Mind you I don't have copy of my current ones either.

In Australia nobody usually gets their records and Doctors are very funny about it but I think by right you are allowed to have them.  Even with this new neuro I don't actually have any of my results on paper apart from latest MRI as my daughter's boyfriend is a radiographer and he was able to request it for me...but it was difficult to get.

I am still hoping they find them, I know my current neuro was curious about some things so it could answer all our questions.

Keep toes and fingers crossed for me, and yes do get those records after all they are ours.

My fingers and toes will always be crossed for you as you have always been very supportive. I didn't realize you were in Austrailia for some reason. It would be a great time to be there for us, as we are just hitting winter now. Wanna Trade??????

I hope you get what you are looking for. I'd be happy to share my new neuro with you. But you'd have to come to MN. Not sure I recommend that in the winter....

Be well,
Love ya.

Yeah I am from Aussie, and we are heading into our summer but I do think I might want to trade. Today was hot and my legs were like jelly and I have never really seen snow!  But I hate the cold too.  Thanks for your kind comments, I do tend to ramble... but that's me, not sure what I am looking for, I just thought perhaps it would be interesting to see my chart notes, to see if anything has changed.  I sort of have an answer but I still feel confused about if my current bout of symptoms are migraine or something more.... I have the TM diagnosis sort of,,,,  yep I guess I am looking for some sort of validation.  I am very happy with my neuro he is awesome!  I trust him, he listens, he monitors and he explains, and he is nice, what more could I ask for... biscuits, and chocolate cake?..lol  ..

thanks for the kind comments I tend to post from my heart and my feelings and it might not always come out the way in a post that it is meant to sound.
Cheers,
Udkas
