Is Anyone Else Stuck at Home on New Year's Eve? Off topic

This is off topic, I know, but I was just wondering if anyone else is staying home tonight or am I the only one who is way too tired to to go to a New Year's Eve party?  There was a time not too long ago that I looked forward to the parties on New Year's Eve, but now instead I watch as my son Adam is getting ready for a formal party tonight.  I'd be envious if I wasn't so tired and felt a lot better.  But, I'll have fun.

For whoever is staying in tonight, how are you planning to ring in the New Year?

I STAYED IN----ME ,THE DOG AND 2 CATS.

I LAYED ON THE COUCH CURLED UP,BETWEEN THE SPASMS AND COUGHING,I

PROBABLY LOOKED LIKE THE WORLDS LARGEST MARROCCA. A ONE WOMAN BAND.

A SIMPLE SINUS INFECTION WENT INTO PNEMONIA,SO I PROMISED THE DR. I'D BE GOOD AND STAY HOME.

HOPE ALL HAVE A GOOD AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR

Well I think I win on the worst New Years Eve. As a favor to my husband I went to a party and watched everyone drink to much (they were very in to the celebration). Then I drove everyone home at around 2ish and was so tired and painful that I was up until 4:30 while my husband snored and slept like a baby!

I am doing it again tomorrow for a Christmas celebration with the in-laws.

I don't mind being the DD but twice in 3 days is pushing it.

I have decided to take a me day on Sunday because I think that I have earned it.

Take care everyone & happy new year

  Erin :)

awwwww.... come on guys, you slept? (I have to admit, I did consider that!)

I didn't do the whole go to a big party thing, but I went to a friends house and we all played games, ate fun good, laughed lots, watched Madagascar 1, and then went outside at 12:00 and stomped on lots and lots of giant  bubble wrap (there was 6 of us, they have a big family) to ring in the new year... we weren't as loud as the neighbor who were shooting their shotguns... but we sure did make a good noise! :) Then I went home and listened to the fire-cracker go off for another 3 hours.... the one's downtown sounded like thunder, the gun-fire was prettttty loud, and the fire-crackers were annoying.... so that was my New Years......... and now we are watching the Rose Bowl Parade....
Bye Now!

Well it's now almost 4am mountain time, and time to go to bed!!

Our friends just left, after about 5 hours of board games and  **** Clark, my husband fell asleep on the couch two hours ago (nice host!!)  and luckily, between the spring rolls and shrimp ring and spanakopita and sausage rolls, in my Kahluha/ Corona/ Cosmopolitan/ champagne induced stupor, I just remembered to do my Copaxone shot!!

So, time to hit the sack!  It is now 2009, and I'm wishing everyone a happier and healthier year for us all!    Talk to you soon!

I tend to stay in on New Year's Eve; I don't like dodging drinking drivers, and am a bit of a homebody.

Usually I'm asleep well before midnight, though if I'm in my apartment, one of my neighbors gets drunk (her one day a year) and stands out in front of the building yelling
"Happy New Year".  There are usually some people that light off fireworks in the doctor's parking lot, so I wake up, smile, and go back to sleeep.

Of course, this year I may be awake 'cause I'm so excited about going on a trip in the morning.  I feel like a kid before Christmas morning.  I've been bustling around making sure my Game Boy is charged, I have a book, instructions for my new phone and the new camera my friend bought today, a Nikon CoolPix P80 with like 18x zoom; I'll get a picture of a whale this year!

I took my pain pill, my 100 mg.Lyrica, my 5 mg. of Ambien, and here I sit at the computer, thinking about my forum friends and spending a little time wishing you all a New Year that brings much better things your way.

Hugs,

Kathy

We have been watching the hockey game (edmonton and calgary) and then probably play a wee bit o monopoly... But as it stands right now my 9 yr old daughter is asleep on the couch, and my 7 yr old son is dozing........... so maybe, just curl up on the couch in front of the fireplace, carry the kids to bed, and hop in to bed me self. ... kinda hurtin tonight...
Happy New Year all... Thanks for being so great!!!

Love, Shari

Hubby and I stuffed ourselves full of pizza and watched about three episodes of "Arrested Development" from the complete set we borrowed from our oldest son.  Then we called our youngest son and wished him happy birthday.  Yep, if they don't cooperate, you just cut 'em out on New Year's Eve so you can deduct 'em.

Hubby's been in bed asleep since about 8:00, and I've been wasting time on the Internet.  It's 9:30 here now.

I had some time to kill waiting for the bus tonight, so I treated myself to an eggnog latte.  It was surprisingly good.

Don't think I'm gonna make it to midnight, either.  Health and happiness to all in 2009!

I prefer asleep too.  The peanut butter on toast sounds yummy...That will go nicely with the hot chocolate that Terry mentioned and that I had to go make.  Thanks to Terry for the drink suggestion and you the snack.  Take care and sleep well tonight.

You are working tomorrow?  No fair.  I'm sorry your husband is not feeling well.

It sounds like most of us will be already asleep before the "ball drops".  Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Take care of yourselves, hubby and you.

I am here in my pajama's at 8:20 going to eat peanut butter on toast. Watch the food channel and probably go to bed by 10:00.

That ball has dropped for 45 years with me awake or asleep.  I prefer asleep!! :-)

I'll be ringing in the New Year snoozing on.haha I have to work tomorrow so I know there is no way that I could stay up to bring in the New Year and then be able to get up on time to work.

I'm way to tired anyways today to even want to think about going out even if I didn't have to work. Hubby is sick with a cold so he is on the couch now,, whining loudly I might add so he is quite content to stay home too.

I hope you have a great New Year!!

Sitting on the couch drinking hot chocolate while watching the ball drop in Times Square.  My 22 year old son is gone and my 19 year old is asleep in the couch.  Honey is working out of town.  Peace and quite and hot chocolate...sounds perfect to me.

Hey ladies,
I have already fallen asleep a couple of times tonight & it is not even 7 here  :)  We rented movies & are currently watching Prince Caspian.  We typically stay home New Years eve - but that is our choice.  I am all too happy to rest since I am so tired.

Happy New Years to you all

Hi Julie and Wonko,
I'm still home too but am heading out in a little bit.  Nothing exciting - just long time friends who live 5 minutes from us.  We will probably be home, in bed, and asleep by 12:30 - that's pretty late for us these days.

If I had my choice I would be on the couch asleep, but we no longer own a couch and I'm much too tall for our loveseat!

Enjoy a quiet evening girls and reflect on all the good that has come into your lives this year....

be well,
Lu

Hey Jules,

Yup!  I'm staying in.  I'm stilled banged up from my accident last week, and I'm more than glad to be sending this year off from my couch!

I don't think I'll be awake at midnight, but I'll be ready to start off 2009 with high hopes as soon as I get up tomorrow!
