I have MS and my boyfriend has Rosacea. He was just dx with iritis. I have been reading up on Rosacea and it says that there is ocular rosacea and it presents as iritis. I'm very concerned and want to help him get to a good opthamologist. Any suggestions on how to go about finding a good doc who would know about these issues?

I have rosacea. I've had it since my second child. It useually flares with stress or the occasional glass of wine. Which I call "getting Red faced".
The interesting thing is that i just became symptomatic with whatever this thing is that I have. I am undiagnosed. December was the worst month.... difficulty walking and standing the whole nine yards. Thought I was going to die. Anyway my face was soooooo red. It went 2 inches past my nose on both sides of my face and stayed there for 2 weeks.
ANA normal, Lupus, sed rate all that normal. I am not normal HA! but better than december and so is my face.

Thanks, I am going to my neuro today and I am going to tell him about this. I will let him know that I have had 6 cysts on my ovaries and 1 I had to have removed. My Lupus LP test came up negative, so I am not sure if he will even consider that. I am sure I will have to go see someone else to find out what this is. He just thinks everything is always caused by stress, anxiety or depression.

I have the redness of the face and was dx'd with lupus first, then ms. I have a very high positive ANA, but it wasn't until they did the specific test for AP, a special protein in the blood that came positive on me, that we knew I had lupus. The way my doc described it was, you could have lupus and NOT have this protein, but if you had this protein, you definitely have lupus. All these things, lupus, MS, and some others can be so hard to dx. I know. None of this started to come together for me to have answers until this year when I turned 51. You just have to know within yourself that there is something wrong and hang in there. Don't let the docs tell you "it's all in your head".
When I presented with that redness on the face and the little spider veins, I was told that I had polycystic ovary disease. I have had a hysterectomy, but my ovaries were left in due to my young age at surgery.
Whether POD is what is happening here, can only be determined by your doctor. I do not think that there is a higher incidence of this redness, that has anything to do with MS. Remembering I am not a doctor, only a woman that deals with MS.

Hi ,
I don't have any medical knowledge about this question, but I have personal experience .. I'm not dx.d but am "possible ms " , I have had redness across face from cheek to cheek and on both sides of my neck.
My sister and great aunt have it .. sister has been sick with a mystery dx. for five yrs. We have all been tested several times for several things , all neg. One of the perks , we look really healthy .. rosy cheeks..
Sorry I don't have any answers for you . Are you dx.d , I can't remember.
How's the snow treating you . I'm from Vt. and miss it . Not the shoveling or scraping ice off the windshield at seven in the morning when the wind-chill is - 30 , but the beautiful snow capped trees , smoke steaming from chimneys , footprints of bunnies on their trails. Coming in from a crisp walk and settling in with a book and a mug of hot chocolate. And soon, crocuses peeking up from their winter sleep , icicles melting .. now back to reality , ruts in the roads and slush.. not favorites but they come with the territory . I hope you didn't mind me going down memory lane for a bit ?
Be well , I'm sure someone will come by with something helpful for you . I just wanted to let you know I'm here
