Is this a symptom?

Hey there,

Hope everyone is doing well. I just had a quick question about something I experienced last week. For several days in a row, my stomach and back felt like they were on fire with itching. I thought at first that I must have gotten a rash or something. It started at work one morning and grew progressively stronger throughout the day. There was no rash or redness or bumps. My skin looked like always.

The itch was constant ... and if this doesn't sound too weird it was inside my skin not the surface. I felt like a tickling sensation when I touched my stomach, but the itch remained. Nothing relieved it -- no creams, lotions or anything.

I haven't changed any products or anything. My skin isn't dry, so I wasn't sure what this was.

This morning I woke up and it is gone. No more itching -- thank the Lord!

Is this a new symptom for my diary or could it be something else?

Thanks! Take care all!

I get itching all the time, but i've always just blamed in on the wonderful Minnesota Misquitos (though I don't have any visible bites) or dry skin (even though I've lotioned u).

Thanks for the question, I guess I'll pay more attention to mine too.

I sometimes feel like I have fiberglass insulation between the same two fingers on my right hand and sometimes my left palm itches like mad and then it goes away. Since it is a neurological disorder makes sense to me. I get heat down my back like a heat lamp.

Wow, that is wild that you felt it somewhere else! I had something similar to that with my hand for about a week. My left palm was numb, but when I rubbed it I felt it in the top of my left index finger. As the numbess went away, so did that sensation.

Actually, come to think of it, I don't think I noted that in my journal ... thanks for the reminder! :-)

These things we go through are just insanely crazy sometimes!

Take care!

I had the exact same itchy feeling but mine was in my scalp - I kept scratching but when I touched my scalp the itch wasn't on the surface, it seemed underneath somewhere, it did go away after a few days. The other odd thing was if I scratched my left shoulder I would get a tickly feeling in my stomach or the top of my left leg...v weird eh?

Thanks for the info on parathesias ... I have experienced several things under that category, I guess I should have thought to research that a bit more.

Thanks a bunch!

I've never had the itch, but have had the burning on my back.  It's horrible. Thank the Lord it's disappeared is right!

Hard saying, but it is worth jotting down while it's fresh in your mind. Have you read the HP on Parathesias?  Least if it's on paper you can double check allergy related if it happens again, though like you say no change in skin or rash may make that unlikely.

Here's to it staying gone!
