It's a new week - what's happening with you?

Besides watching the Weather Channel and tracking the news on Hurricane Sandy, what else is planned for your week?  I have no doctor appts this week, just one PT session on Thursday.  The rest of the week will be spent on research and lots of reading.

This is our weekly roundup time, so be sure to add what you have scheduled - medical or not - that you would like to share.

be well and be safe,
Laura

Heh Lu, yeppers, watching all the CNN coverage, and I am worried about our Shell, hoping they are all ok.

I have appointments this week, with my GP , dealing with alot of things, and hoping for some answers.  Got more blood work done, and some urine work about my gamma being low.

Also, got a call from my specialist,,and dates are Nov13 for my biopsies, so, that will be good to have that done.

Also, hoping for some energy to return to me, this has been a hard 10 days for me.... and hoping tis will change this week .

Hoping you are all going to have a good week, with the sun in your face, and dthe wind at your back ...

Cheers to all,
Candy

Greetings from near NYC. I now live about 30 minutes outside the city in Great Neck, on Long Island. 90% of Long Island has no power. I'm, by some divine providence, in the 10 % that does have power. I guess the Big Guy figured if he gave me MS the least he could do was let me keep my lights on :-)

The devastation is remarkable.

Hi friends,

I hope everyone in the NE got safely through Sandy. We completely dodged the storm here in central NY but my relatives in NYC are all stranded without power :(

Oh Alex, I am so happy to hear your upbeat message! I really love your doctor's orders! Enjoy these next few weeks :)

I only have a dentist appt. and PT this week.

I hope you all have a great week and a happy Halloween!

((hugs to all))

Hello all,

Thank God, that at least some of us are enjoying life. I will be praying for all those stuck in the storm or going through hard times. As for me, I will be setting up two appts. (Hopefully) one for an MRI and the other to see the nuero. Besides this, I am doing alot of praying and fighting through a bit of a tougher time in my life. My husband and myself are in a fincial hole of 1800 dollars. We are fighting to get out but keep falling back in and the hole seems to be getting bigger.

That's ok though cuase I know The Lord is gonna help me get a better job working at the IRS. I also trust my husbands ot will kick in.

Well, the only other thing going on in my life is I am waiting to see my schedule. It will be posted today. I am praying I have Sunday off to go to church and maybe even Saturday so I can have time with my step children, who are my own since they are the only kids I have.

God is great, and with him by my side life will get better. Once more praying for ya.

May God bless ya,
Kimberly

Alex, I'm so happy that you're loving life right now.

Yesterday, I went to the Univ of CO Hospital to an infectious disease doctor to see if she could find out the reasons behind my daily off and on fevers that I've had for over a year & other symptoms. She's doing more testing. While there, she said my lymph gland under my left armpit (btw, I hate that word) is swollen.

Then I told her that today I actually have a diagnostic mammogram & ultrasound scheduled (after arguing back & forth for more than 2 wks with my PCP over the phone trying to get her to approve to have it scheduled) for I lump I've had for about 3 months.

Other than that I'm working all week and trying to get my Mayo Clinic paperwork all filled out before my week long stay there next week.

Very happy to hear good news; praying we hear more from you in the eastern US today.

We had enough snow to whiten the yards, but it's melting on the roads.  Reported temp when the dogs woke us was 33°F, with a "Feels like" temp of --  wait for it -- 14 degrees!  Wind is taking the snow away faster than the temperature.

Kids are on a 2-hour delay here.

Please be careful everyone!  I live in the Northwest, so we are just watching the news- and hoping everything will be okay.

Alex, your doctor's orders sound lovely!

I am dealing with a nasty virus for the last week.  I thought I was getting better, but it it looks like this virus wants a second round.

(((Hugs to all,)))

Over my side of the world its spring, so lots of cleaning out of unused stuff and for some reason (i can't remember what we were thinking, must be nutts) we are renovating both the laundry and kitchen and because we've never worked out how to do anything easy, we are also renovating my mums kitchen, well gutting and replacing it.

Wanten distruction is good for your mind, i so enjoyed picking up a hammer and smashing stuff lol though my body is not very happy with me but we've got a tight deadline so its all hands on deck.

Its heating up, today im already feeling it and the day is only just starting lol HoBo is having a ball playing with his water bowl, he's the only dog i've ever seen or heard of, that purposly blows bubbles in his drinking water lol he also holds his breath and sticks his snout in, he's rather hillarious! oh boy scrathch the hillarious and swap it for naughty, he's just pulled all the stuffing out of his elmo and its now covering the back yard lol like i really needed something else to do lol

Cheers.........JJ

Nothing Medical. I hope to get out to the barn. I need to start training Grady again may be tomorrow in the mall. I hope everyone is spared from the storm. I am under Doctor's orders (my GP) to forget I am sick for the next three months. I am to get out with friends, ride, do anything except think about illness. I am excited about this new challenge. I am also under strict orders to eat everything I can and want. When does a Doctor tell you that? My husband says it is official I have absolutely no butt at all. I am to gain a butt.

Emotionally I am the best ever. I do not remember being this happy. I really love my life. I have the best husband ever I would have strangled me by now but he has been a Saint. So have my friends especially on the forum. I am giving everyone here the biggest smile.

Alex

No appointments, just lots of laundry and packing.  Departing for Ontario on Saturday to visit various family and friends, a few days in Ottawa and a few days in Toronto.  Like homecoming for me as I lived in both places in childhood and went to university in Toronto.  Excited, haven't been there in years.  Strange though to be away from hubby for nine days, will be home for two weeks then away from home again for another two weeks.  Ah well, I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder, lol.

I was out in it but got home safely last night, although exhausted.  Had to go to son's and bring back a truck load of stuff he had no room for.  Hubby got an early "christmas in october" load of stuff.....

everyone who has to go out in it, please be safe.  I drove thru hours of bad rain and wind before I hit a clear spot to finish my drive.

I have a pacemaker check tomorrow and an appt with my cardiologist to determine the date for my pacemaker battery replacement.  Also need his
advice on the new drugs the neuro wants...then I'm putting my feet up for a few days to de-stress.

Another zoning hearing tonight, and waiting for a cancellation at either of my neuro's two offices.

Praying for better weather for everyone, but working on inside projects meanwhile.  Ready to put 1st coat of paint on new Men's Room walls.  Best volunteer painter (besides myself) stayed home with a cold, though.

Otherwise, work, work, work, rock & stumble, look through haze, whine about eye pain.  Without authorization, I bumped my gabapentin dose from 1200 to 1600 mg/day, and that seems to help with eye pain (when I don't forget it!), but I'm wondering if it might not be aggravating the balance & sometimes increasing sleepiness.

Praying for everybody here.

Oh, and congratulating the #48 team. ;>D
