Just an update about the department of neurology !

I have post on here that I had a big appt with the department of neurology. So, I went on the 7th of this month.  They seem very concerned that nobody was really giving answers and following my care.  They want me to have another cervical spine mri and redo my emgs on my legs and arms.  These test are set up for the 22 of this month.  The doctor was very nice and stated to call her after these test are done to go over the results and reports.   Hopfully the will be able to tell something.  But, these test I already had that was adnornal with the emgs.

So, why would they redo these?  What are they looking for?  Changes?  I don't understand and didn't ask?    I guess they have their reasons and maybe they will say.   I was happy that she said its my body and I have a right to know.  

That's important to me and so I have to think that they actually care.

Any thoughts about this appt?   I'm alittle confused and want to make sure that I'm asking all the right questions when I speak with her on the phone.

The cervial mri is being done without constrast.  Which,  I'm hoping will be fine.

I do have an allergy to constrast but they usually premedicate me before going in for the test.  

If anyone thinks of question that I need to ask Please, let me know.   I try to ask important questions but, I can't remember everything.  Then, again who can.

Misty, be sure to write a list of your questions so you can't forget them.    It is great to hear this doctor validate your concerns and acknowledge it is your body
As for specific quesitons. I am drawing a blank right now but I'm sure someone else will think of a few for you.

And it doesn't matter if you have contrast or not -

Lu, thanks for your thoughts very helpful.  I hope other will chime in if they can think of any.  I have one so far that I hope she can answer and that is why one minute do I feel good and the next feel like my body is done.

It can be one day I feel good and not the next or it can be hour by hour.  All of this is really taking such a toll on my marriage and I have no control over it.

I'm going to ask this not only for me but, also for my husband who feels very lost.   I can understand why he feels this way and I sometime do but I'm also feel very greatful that I have this forum.  I help answer or find answers and make suggestions.  

It's no fun going through anything with blinders on and not understanding doctors English.   But, with that said I truly believe in my heart if these doctor don't know the answers they r going to find them.....   I feel safe in there hands so, I hope this continues.

Correction that I need to make,  That help me by making suggestions or giving answers or helping me find answers.  It is also very helpful to share some information to others so, maybe I could be helping them.  Which has always been my passion to help others.

I think it's common for docs to want to order their own tests. Even though you have had multiple MRI's, the new doc may like a particular imaging center or radiologist. She may also just want to see a fresh set of images.
