Love Christmas but so glad it is over :)

Hi everyone, I hope your Christmas was a great as mine was.

Christmas Eve was a very very long day. I cooked all day, made tamales and papusas and had a wonderful day with my sisters and their families. We ate, did our gift exchange and sat around talking for a while. Around 7pm we all left my sisters house then I slep in the back of the van on our way home.

Got home wrapped gifts for a gift echange with our friends, got to their place around 9, ate again, gift echange around midnight then around 1 we finally went home.

Needless to say it was an exhausting day. I went home fell into bed and didn't wake till around 10 in the morning. I did however wake to my dh massaging me which was a wonderful suprise. If any of you are like me the morning is the worst for me. My muscles are all tight from the day before.  I let him and my mom know that I would not be cooking Christmas Day. I brought plenty of leftovers from my sisters house to feed us for the day.

We had already done our Christmas with my daughter, sone in law, grandson and mom on the 19th so that part was taken care of. Me and my mom sipped hot chocolate and watched Christmas shows all day, well till I fell back to sleep on the couch. lol.

I had a wonderful time but I am so glad it is over so that I can just get back to a normal routine :)

Hope all of you had a great one too.

Paula

Glad you had a nice Xmas. Ours was low key and I loved it! Several nice luncheons with friends. Xmas eve with a friend and Xmas with a couple we are close friends with.

Sounds wonderful, and action packed! I would be exhausted too. Shoot. I was exhausted and didn't even have half the activity you did. But I was able to rest up enough to pull off hostessing a big traditional dinner for my parents, kids and husband. What is it about the old folks that wears me out? They left around 2:00 this afternoon (out of towners, got in around noon yesterday), and napped for a couple of solid hours after that. The good thing is, there will be no need to do a lot of cooking for a few days. :-)

P- your Christmas day sounds perfect.  I'm sure your mom enjoyed just spending time together without all the extra fuss.

Tamales?  Yumm.  I have the stuff here to make a big batch but am lacking the motivation and extra hands.  My DH loves them.

Watch it Jump, I am one of those old folks!!! LOL

Alex, your day sounds great.  I love to spend time with friends - the family we pick for ourselves.

hugs, L

I guess I could say my Christmas was pretty awesome!  My husband and I woke up before the kids so we could at least get the coffee on and have a cig. before the mad rush of the kids opening presents.

I must say that santa was pretty good to me this year, I got an IPad. woo-hoo!! I couldn't believe my hubby got me that. He says maybe now he can get on the laptop. LOL

Not alot of stress, just exhausted from putting all the toys away and rearranging the playroom. It's calm and queit in the house, and watching Rocky 5 for the 500th time LOL Gotta love Stalone.
Glad to hear you had a great Christmas.

Sounds all around that everyone had a good Christmas :) I am thankful it is over.

MCBCON, maybe we should all get together and make some, all the extra hands make it go fast lol.

Lulu, They are time consuming. I only make them a couple times a year cuase it takes so long to make. Well I am much faster now than I use to be because I figured out a what works best for me.

Pamela,
You made a good decision by getting up earlier than the kids.
