Lst day of solumedrol still using walker

Tdwy was my last day of solumedrol.  Third course since October.
Normally by the first or second day I m great.

This time I am still using the walker and body is still very weak.
Can't walk much better and wondering why it worked so well the first two times and not this time.

I am starting to get depressed and feel lost.
I just seems to be going down.  Hve drop foot in on left side and now my right side is starting to get droopy.
Quads are weak now also.

Any takers?

Thanks,
Kerri

Predicting treatment success is almost as hard as diagnosing.  Remember, steroids decrease inflammation (and therefore swelling) but don't heal MS lesions.  They can reduce symptom severity.  They may even shorten the length of time required for resolution of flare symptoms.  But there are no guarantees steroids will work the same way or be equally effective EVERY time a person uses them.

This COULD be an indication you are having a pseudoexacerbation or a continuation of your last flare rather than something new.  Many members have told us they wait months for the symptoms of a flare to truly subside.  (Remember your own progression last summer?  It was very up and down.)  Maybe your symptoms are being triggered by something you haven't identified yet.  Maybe you have an infection that needs treating.  Maybe you just have to keep as active as possible and pace your activity while you wait this one out.

I do think you need to consult with your neuro come Monday because there are too many factors and possibilities for anyone here to really say.  I'm sure others will have personal experiences they can share with you though.

It's got to be very hard to realize the quick fix doesn't always deliver as expected.  It's Sunday.  I hope you can take advantage of the days rituals to center yourself and reduce the stress this must be creating in your body.
