MR Interpretation Help

I just received my most recent MRI From the doc.
It was compared to the one i had 5 years ago when i didn't have any symptoms.
Now i have an onslaught of symptoms And many other illnesses have been ruled out.
Had a Lyme blot today and should hear in a couple of days.
Any help interpretation help would be greatly appreciated.
This MRI was done without contrast.

The pineal gland is prominent But unchanged from MRI taken 5 years ago measuring 8mm.
The left hippocampus is smaller than the right with no Evidence of abnormal signal, likely Within normal limits.

When compared to the prior study, again noted are several scattered foci of FLAIR signal in the periventrical and subcortical white matter, non-specific.  Increased FLAIR signal is Also noted in the calloso-septal Junction.

IMPRESSION

several scattered foci of Increased FLAIR signal Again noted in the periventricular and subcortical white matter bilatterally.  Tis is a nonspecific diagnosis Which includes demylinating disorder such as multiple sclerosis, Lyme, vasculitis or small vessel ischemic disease amongst other etiologies.

That's it.  My blood work came back with slightly elevated liver enzymes but i don't think that matters.

Anyone with experience or any advice or similar findings, i would appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum

It is the standard reading most MS patients get from a radiologist.  It is only part of the picture and has to be matched up with the clinical signs and your symptoms.  Don't sweat the contrast.  It only helps to show the age of lesions that already show without contrast.

I had the elevated liver enzymes.  Your doctor should be ordering an MRI WITH contrast.

Thanks.  I just got an appt with a neurologist at the Mandel ms center in Hartford, ct.  I have Medicaid and it was really hard for me to find a neuro that took my insurance.  I called them to ask if they could diagnose or rule out ms and they said they could.  I figured since I was having troubles that were very indicaticpve of ms why not continue there.  Also, if it isn't ms, which at this point I doubt, they can point me in the right direction.

Do you, in your experience, think my MRI sounds like an MS reading?  Meaning, are these the standard findings for ms patients when they get MRI's?  I ask because I am starting to go a little crazy here.  I did notice in the last couple of weeks that my left side is more affected.  I also noticed that lately when i go outside, my eyes hurt.  Today i was at the supermarket and almost fell twice.  My leg gives out.  Its either at the knee or my quad.  Another thing that happened recently was that vie woken up gasping for air and not being able to get a breath for a couple of seconds then i can breath.  Maybe its stress.

I'm sorry for all of the questions but this forum seems to be the only place I can get any straightforward answers to my question.

Thanks again.  I appreciate all of your help.
